  • It's taken me a week to read this thread after my own Superb purchase! I can only say how gutted I am you sold Audrey! It was like a soap opera I didn't want to end. What am I going to do tomorrow?!

  • That's one hell of an aerial on the back there!...

  • It's not an aerial; it's the pole that makes contact with the ceiling grid.

Wow that is some Snow Foam!

A little test today to see how efficiency, Audrey is:

Btw 2,000 - 2,500 rpm for 61miles mostly motorway (cough cough mph) 48.7mpg :

image_zps5b42e90d.jpg

Average 2000rpm 70mph 140miles: 57.3mpg

image_zps63cdeaff.jpg

Average 1700rpm 56mph for 90miles: 57.9mpg

image_zps0585506d.jpg

Officially 37mpg + 55mpg = 47 (combined)

....i feel Audrey done pretty gud! :-)

what engine do you have in your superb 2.0tdi pd 140 or 2.0tdi cr 140/170. did u use cruise control or just keep your foot on the right pedal lol.

170 TDI DSG - cruise control off.

Test drive all in one trip, but stopped at service station per new speed/test.

Trip between Bristol and Bradford.

thats quite good for a 170cr. you must have a really light right foot.

Yes - been driving quite light foot (but enough to have a bit of va-va-vroom fun too :-)

Its not the mph that puts ms off driving heavy footed.

Its the fact I am not used to the wheel spin every time I put my foot down! :-(

The Superb maxidot does typically overhead by around 10%, but even so it is possible to get low to mid 50’s (actual) out of the 170CR.

Interesting mate.... I found similar in my tub with the CR170, though I haven't actually gone to the lengths you have and recorded the results - driving like miss daisey on the Mway doesn't seem to make much difference to driving at 70 ish and like yours it (probably!) drops once you're into 3 point country where as in my 1.4TSI cruising either side of the 70 mph mark made quite a difference to MPG.

Thks Martin - I believe that is the general concensus that the car computer is not that all accurate.

Best to calculate the amount of fuel / money put in a full tank then calculate from mileage - but I can't be bother

Yes Ade, forget Facebook or Apple, Wayne wants to rule the world too

Well, decided my list of defects was long enough to ask Skoda if thy can help under warranty:

Skoda: Hi how can i help?

Me: i like to ask some warranty questions

Skoda: is it a warranty claim?

Me: no i have a few questions

Skoda: well we have to inspect 1st then see if covered by warranty.

Best to check your warranty book

Me: i just want to ask quickly just to get a rough idea

Like will a screw hole that is crack in the boot is covered?

Skoda: no, its damaged and not a wear and tear

Me: isnt that a design fault for something not lasting more than 3years?

Skoda: its broken, so not covered

Me: wheel caps corroded

Skoda: no

Me: washer headlamp lose

Skoda: no

Me: fog light condensation?

Skoda: no

Me: Speaker squeak

Skoda: no

Me: Was my car ever recalled?

Skoda: There was one recall for boot badge

Me: oh, thanks

strange, these should be covered if under warranty....

Maybe covered if within 1st year or 3 years?

Mine Audrey s now just over 3years and under extended Skoda warranty?

Shall I push the retailer a little harder?

Or contact Skoda UK?

Your deal is with the dealer so that is initially where I would be heading off to.

Cheers Ian.

Will mention it to the MD of DMKeith and ask him wot he thinks then.

After standard warranty yes, and much more, at extended I am not sure what is and what is not. To be sure I have different experience on dealers. For example, in Czech Republic many things are not covered by warranty however in Germany and Belgium are. Maybe benelux countries are comparable in general to Belgium? Competition sensitive behavior for consumer?

Service book is all you need in that manner.
