  • It's taken me a week to read this thread after my own Superb purchase! I can only say how gutted I am you sold Audrey! It was like a soap opera I didn't want to end. What am I going to do tomorrow?!

  • That's one hell of an aerial on the back there!...

  • It's not an aerial; it's the pole that makes contact with the ceiling grid.

Ouch Wayne - what happened? Seat reversed into Audrey?

After all the effort and expense you've put into getting her sorted that's a real body blow mate. Bet you're gutted. Hopefully no one was hurt?

Yeah Coops.

Its a small private car park - so no one was speeding.

Just so happens I just left my drive,

and she was reversing into hers ...

Ade - yes gutted!

After all the panic of teeny weeny dings - and then this came along!

Slow impact - no one hurt.

Taking my 7 year old to Beavers - think the Superb in the back is so comfy dont think he noticed a thing!

In fact he said "daddy, but i thought u hit a kerb?" :-)

whoo!!! not a nice sight :peek: has the other car hut the rear wheel?? if so i would get it checked for suspension alignment and the door hinges may need looking at but probably should be okay as it was low speed, are you going through insurance or is she paying you in cash? get it to a good body shop and she will be as good as new really gutted for you to see the superb in such a way :( :(

I've been tracking your Audrey post since the start with interest and bouts of fun and humour. I too am relatively new to the Superb and have similar spec and same colour and as you have learnt tips and tricks on the back of your thread, so have I you and the other participants to thank for that.

I'm away in Portugal and thought I'd catch up with Audrey.

SHOCK HORROR, my belly leaped as if it was my girl, I know it will get sorted but I am genuinely gutted for you.

It was your posts of your car clean with Chris for his charity appeal that prompted me to do the same.

Chin up, keep posting. Cheers Robert.

Sorry to see that damage, but there is a lot of paint transfer there. Get a good polish and get rubbing and most, if not all will come off and you'll be able to fully asses the damage.

Cheers Ian.

I am too nice - i will be claiming off insurance and let them decide who was at fault.

Thanks Slobby!

I am glad u find Audrey s thread useful.

Keep coming back to this forum - loads of tips, friendly bunch,

and its one of the best forums i have joined! :-)

Not really mate.

If u look at the 2nd pic, the rear door is pushed in (compared with front door).

Though the rear door shuts / locks, i can just about see daylight thru the top door seals ! Eeek!

Top door rubber away from bodywork too!

Dear God, PLEASE DONT RAIN! :-(((((

Wouldn't surprise me if they go knock for knock mate. That way they can increase both premiums! Get a decent repairer to sort her out-she deserves it... You can choose anyone to repair your car, you don't have to use their 'preferred' bodyshop if you don't want to, but obviously they still have to give the go ahead.

The top of the door...

U see the front door seal touches the roof of car,

But rear door has a gap (seal not touch roof):

Gutted for you Wayne

If you think I can help in any way.....just contact me

Cheers Chris.

Certainly need a new door (rear door buckled) - so will be an insurance job.

Still, on the bright side hopefully i get 2 brand new doors with factory thick paint / lacquer - LOL

crazy how a little shunt can turn into all this bother and worry. car looked brill before and still does just with some battle scars, i would dread mine looking like that and i was going off my nutter last week at some old granny who pulled out of a parking bay behind me and clipped my superb but she hardly touched it and it is quite hard to see the little darker blue scuff, some people can't drive for toffee!!!

Really sorry to see this Wayne, hope it all gets sorted soon.

I'm absolutely, genuinely gutted for you mate.

This thread has been so helpful in my pursuit for a Superb and I know how meticulous you have been with Audrey - only for this to happen.

Get it to the best bodyshop of your choosing and I'm 110% sure it will look better than when you picked her up from Oldbury.

Just found this thread and have read it top to bottom. Just brilliant. It’s like a graphic novel; I had tears in my eyes by the end.

I’m the proud owner of Audrey’s slightly younger (I think - she’ll be 3 in June) cappuccino-coloured sister. I rescued her from an auction house when her first owner abandoned her because she was 120k miles old. ‘Don’t worry, that’s only just run in,’ I told her as I happily handed over my £7,000, thinking Suckers! OK, the Columbus was dead, but the most important thing - yes, she’s still got her umbrella

Really hope Audrey gets well soon, Wayne. Keep us posted. In the meantime, have you discovered the cup holders in her rear armrest yet? I hope not, because you’ll love it when you do!

Dead flies ...

Does anyone know how to get to the bulbs (cabin lights) to remove the flies?

Thanks!

The whole assembly is simply clipped into the headlining and should with some gentle pulling round the edges of the light unit at the edge by the headliner drop down to reveal the wiring and bulb holders.

It's not my name, it's where I live. Also known as :rain:

I am probably the only person in the country who doesn't have either a digital camera or a smartphone, so you'll just have to imagine for now. Think of Audrey in a sandstorm.

I played with the toys for so long that I made the battery flat! Got a new 77Ah one now, and a jump start pack, just in case. We live in the country - no neighbours to impress. Not many places to try out Park Assist either. Still can't believe that will work. Tried cruise control. Didn't like it much - felt like the car was driving me. Maybe I'll get used to it.

Going to make her nice and shiny this weekend, if the :rain: holds off.
