Wheel bearing replacement

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what kind of price it will cost to have a front wheel bearing replaced on a 2012 Fabia? Looking at an independent garage, not dealership.

Surely this should be under warranty.

no, already been told it's not covered under warranty due to it being an accident. Had the car slide into a kerb in the snow which took a sizeable chunk out of the alloy, seems the energy was transferred to the bearing and the case broke.

I've been quoted 250 from my local dealership. That's parts and fitting in my front left.

Did you tell them it had been in an accident. Did you get your new wheel before you took it in if so i would not of told it had been kerbed

I expect after the bearing is replaced you will be needing the tracking checked.

Not because of the bearing replacement just because of the chance of further damage.

Adam, where did you get a new wheel from Skoda or aftermarket.

Looks like wifee has dinged one of our wheels.

I took the car to an independent garage i've used for some of my other previous cars, very helpful service and said that they highly doubt the wheel bearing has gone and that it's likely only the balljoint is bent. They have quoted £70 to supply and fit and re-align which I thought was good value. It's booked in to be fixed on Friday :)

Carlo diesel - http://www.skodaparts.com/product/fabia-alloy-wheel-monte-carlo-17-inch-2011-2013-50336 - you will be looking at around £200 to replace an alloy, genuine wheel not replica.
