Anyone who asks their team to move their team mate out the way instead of shutting up and overtaking them is a prat either way tbh.

  • I only hope it gets to the last race and Vettel needs Webber to stay behind him so Vettel can win his 4th World Title, only he's done too many laps on his tyres and they won't last to the end if he ha

Whatever anyone says negatively about the young man, and whether or not he's disliked for whatever reason, he's still a triple world champion.....end of! ;)

Phil the Power Taylor is 16 times World Darts Champion and it can't be down to his darts can it? That sort of dominance is indisputable F1 however has so many equipment variables the same can't be said for the drivers. Any Motorsport will have the same problem If you have ever played Scalextric you will know that once you have the throttle position sorted so its on the knife edge between top speed and flying of the track then who will win is down to the Car with the best motor best magnet and best position on track. So not 'end of' still open for discussion I would say Adrian Newey's design team are the real champions in the last 4 seasons.

Ooh, I see Vettel's RB car has just driven itself to provisional pole position. Who needs drivers anyway!

Here is the sound of Red Bulls new V6 for next season.....

Actually thats possibly the sound of a stationary one, but they tend not to race in a stationary position.

I think it is a leaf blower George!

That's awful, it sounds like a two stroke Trabant engine!

Quite possibly.

Sometimes you hear an engine like that and the first thought is, 'Thats well fu,kced.'

it is a spoof video, pneumatic starter and just off shot a guy starts a fan blower that they use for the brake cooling, it is not the V6 for 2014

Hamilton will take it - he's sandbagging!

Seeing as you mention it no team will do it because it would be bad press and take the god like status away from their overpaid drivers (revenue streams) but they could quite easily replace the driver with electronics. Its only a case of using the existing sensors coupled with Servos, actuators and solenoids to effect the stearing and no need for the pedals as they are fly by wire so the computer could control the throttle, brake gear selection and stearing much more precise and effective than a slow human (relative terms). Especially on a qually run. In a race situation your would need some clever crash avoidance system and a bit of clever AI as to what the driver in front or behind is likely to do but with cameras and sensors im sure they could sort it.

Hamilton will take it - he's sandbagging!

:D

Shame he actually went in to the sand in Q2 - completely wrecked his chances of a high starting position. Race tomorrow will be interesting to see how far up the order he can get himself before the chequered flag, I doubt he'll be repeating Perez in the Sauber last year, the Merc isn't renowned for being kind to it's tyres!

Not seen qualy - heard he got stuck in traffic too. Shame like you say. Hulkenberg third though - unbelieveable lap from what I've heard.

:D

Then again, maybe he won't! ;)

PMSL @ Alonso,

he needed Massa to 'Break Wind' for him. and then could not get up to or match his speed.

Well he was pooped all over the plonker.

Was he deliberately set up for that fall? Or is that just a conspiracy theory too far.

Monza qualifying was an absolute hoot.

Ferrari could net get the draft tow right so Massa end up in front of Alonso and a Ferrari engined Sauber in front of Massa, the Tifosi must be livid.

Lewis's honesty was refreshing and for the almost non-human level of perfection these drivers exhibit the rare sight of such a mistake and admission was a breath of fresh air.

Monza is so special with its low down force set up bringing in Driver talent to the fore.

Balancing the throttle though Parabolica and the few that got it wrong showed just how much skill there is compared to nailing it with so much down force that it will not 4 wheel drift off the track.

Also, as we end the European rounds start to think how the change from Naturally aspirated to 1.6L turbo will affect things.  Seem to recall they used 1.5 litre turbos many years ago, mid 80s.  Phenomenal power ie well over 1000 hp in qualifying trim.  Expect the revs will be limited to under 20K but should be more related to road cars again.

Personally i have no interest in them being anything like road cars in F1, there are motorsports with road cars for that.

I did watch in the 80's and to me the 1.5 Supercharged (or Turbo) engines were exciting, but then so were the races & the drivers.

No sad twa-ts that were chucked then unable to drive because they were feeling sad for themselves.

So, Hamilton by his own admission drove like and idiot in qualifying and has finally conceded the title to the better drivers.

Vettel won the race by a comforable margin. 'Nuff said I think.

Mind you, there's still time for Alonso to upset the RB camp.

Michael Shumacher even recently said that he wouldn't mind if Sebastian took his record off his hands......Not a fan of Hamilton.....can't beat the Great Damon Hill. A true gentleman of motorsport, just like his father...

This was the first race I have watched live all the way through this season and found it (sadly) dull. I know there is a lot going on, but I don't watch a race to see who doesn't win, I watch a race to see people competing with each other and trying to be first over the line. I can't see it improving till someone either clones Adrian Newy or locks him in a concrete bunker for a couple of years :(  I think I will go back to watching 'Escape to the Country' instead, for the rest of the season (That Jules chap is very nice :)

I agree Amanda, Over the last 25 years Newey has made most of those seasons pretty boring.

The seasons he didnt wreck with his genius Ferrari bought the best of everything (including the FIA) to win.

They should force him to design something with  a low budget.

I say that, I remember him turning the Marches into race winners with sub standerd drivers. Very clever man, but that doesnt make for good racing!!

To be honest F1 is completely a dull sport......I remember the 90's how i love watching the races and being on edge.....the cars were wider, more competition for tyres, more things went wrong, computers were not the main player and so on.....and then the 80's, well that was a proper era.....

I've watched F1 since I was a kid and all I can remember through the past 20+ years is people saying how it's not as good/competitive/interesting as it used to be.

Nostalgia's not what it used to be.

I don't mind watching it, dismiss the first car and the rest of the field has a bit of chopping and changing.

What I find difficult to deal with is Ben the commentator, he is a first class stroker!

Also I am noticing Vettel is growing his hair on top of his head to comb forward, is he suffering a bit of hair loss?

As said above, the championship is all but decided and the final few races will be pretty much the same as we have seen already. Nothing to get excited about.
