  • I only hope it gets to the last race and Vettel needs Webber to stay behind him so Vettel can win his 4th World Title, only he's done too many laps on his tyres and they won't last to the end if he ha

  • Don't think this has been posted yet but saw it on Facebook and had to share

Rather than £70 parking, find a company that'll bus/landrover or chopper you in. Usually less, and you shouldnt get stuck in queues.

Webber leaves red bull at the end of the season Everyone says kimi will go there but I cant see it myself.

As for Silverstone, I was considering going but new puppy is making it hard to justify £££££ for a day out. Was only going to go quali anyway. Shuttle bus runs from MK centre so wouldn't bother driving.

Not a surprise but opens up a lot more possibilities. The thought of Davidson, McNish, Webber, Toyota, Audi, Porsche all at Le Mans 2014 is going to be fantastic! But who replaces him? Favourites are Kimi and Ricciardo so far. Kimi wants a winning car but would have to be treated as an equal. The thought of Kimi beating Vettel in the same machinery does sound good. Next year will be fantastic for the WEC. Should be more coverage with even more well known drivers from F1 and other places. I think it's a good move for him. I hope ITV4 pick up some of it even if it's only highlights. It's quickly becoming the Motorsports channel of choice with fantastic coverage of BTCC then highlights of DTM and WRC. I hope Vettel get zero help off him this year and I'd like to see him win a few races.

Been told WEC 6hr at Silverstone will be about £35 with full paddock access. Bargain!

WEC sounds great for that price, when is it?

Webbo should go to Lotus next season.

Part of me wants to see Kimi go to red bull and trash Vettel leaving him crying in Horners bosom. The other part of me see's him going there and just getting ****** over. Time will tell.

Just discovering this thread!!! :(

I'd also love to see kimi in the bull but can't see it. Vettel has said he wants a say on who his team mate will be so he won't want kimi even tho they aren't meant to be good mates. I'd also love to see how kimi reacts to the treatment vettel would get. He wouldn't let the team away with it haha he'd get his own back some how. Kimi for the seat FTW!

Hamilton!! Yes!!!

Now for tomorrow! :)

Very good pole for Hamilton. McLaren disappointing again but surprisingly bad performances from Kimi and Nando. I know Lotus are fiddling with DDRS again. Problem is Vettel will still score big. If they don't sort themselves out Vettel will run away with a 4th Championship

I expect a big turnaround from the mercs tyre deg this weekend. Since all the test gate saga is over I feel their performance will increase. There's no way they never learnt anything from the test! Here's hoping! Got a good feeling tomorrow for hamilton! That's if vettel isn't first by the second corner :D

Loved Kimi's comment, along the lines of: "if I knew I'd tell you then you'd leave me alone."

Re Pirelli Tyres.

What a non story that all was.

You know when you drive cars to try and avoid Potholes or slow down for Steel Plates & 'Ramp's at Roadworks,

so why would a Racing driver not avoid sharp edges off of a track.

(or as Gary Anderson pointed out, why even have them there?)

george

I think the tyres are intended to take a bit more hammer than that. Granted the tracks are better than the roads around Oldham but sharp edges on a race track? Asking for trouble surely.

What intrigues me is: are those kerbs of the same construction of previous seasons? If they are, why are these tyres and these tyres only suddenly suffering this kind of catastrophic failure when clipping them? (if, indeed, it is confirmed to be the cause)

Bottom line Pirelli were asked to produce tyres that degrade in performance/grip faster than the old Bridgestones to promote more pit stops during racing. Pirelli have done this by producing tyres that simply stop working after a certain level of wear by either providing no grip at all or by exploding like a fire cracker.

Technically they shouldn't be using kerb but we all know it's part racing these days. Pirelli are making tyres to the spec FIA want. The FIA need to let Pirelli test more so they can be more predictable.

Just so long as it's not in a 2013 car, eh?! :giggle:

2 wheels off the track at 2 successive corners, or at the same one on 2 successive laps = drive through.  How long before drivers start respecting the track limits again?

Replace kerbs with low walls - problem solved!
