Delivery times

I've gone straight to Skoda UK, filled in an online form just waiting for them to get back to me. My dealer is useless.

I'm hoping the same too that they'll be able to lend me something.

I'm not in the habit of ordering new cars, but surely if you are taking orders you need to be able to deliver within a few months at least?!

If it's abnormal it could be a really bad story for Skoda, I already know a few people who are interested in ordering a vRS based on my experience, if this is going to fall through it's not going to be a terribly good story for the brand?

Can you let us know how you get on with SUK - I'll give my dealer a chance to call me back at least, but if they start messing me around I'll just go direct.

Same here it's the first time I've ever bought a new car. You'd think twelve weeks would be worst case scenario. Will let u know what Skoda say if they ever get in touch.

Let me know what your dealer says please mate if he gets back to u.

Just spoke to Skoda UK. My car at the mo (as per all vRS Hatch orders) is at status 10 with a tentative build week of 42. That build week will defintely change as they're not beginning production of the hatch until build week 45 (1st wk Nov). Apparently all dealerships have had a bulletin stating this and should be telling people when they order.

He said I need to await my car going to status no.20 which will mean the build date is set in stone, but not to expect it to go to status 20 until at least the first week in November. Once you have a build week the car takes 23hrs to build and then 4 weeks to be shipped over. Didn't really give anything away on timescale as he didn't know himself but it's very unlikely to be before Xmas.

Right, that's quite a different story from crazydunc? - surely all or most of the hatches would have moved dates at the same time? - and his is code 10 not code 20 so not confirmed?

All very odd

Still no call back from my dealer

Ordered my estate a month a go and i still can't get a build week out the dealer...... Think I might give SUK a call tomorrow....

Mine is still at code 10 and as it stands it's scheduled for wk42 but he did say that will definitely change once it gets to code 20. Code 20 means that all of the parts for my build (ie extras) are in stock and the car is ready to be built. Only then is your build week set in stone and it's very unlikely any hatches will go to code 20 until at least November.

Sounds similar to what I had originally, week 45 build, 01DEC delivery. Fingers crossed yours doesn't change! My order went in on the 23AUG.

This is what Skoda UK told me two weeks ago and the reason I changed my order to an estate.

My order went in August 19th. After speaking to him today I'd be over the moon with a December delivery. Wk45 is when production starts but they're doing hatch demonstrators first, then customer orders - no way of finding out where in the customer order queue I stand.

Only saving grace is that production time is only 23hrs so they must get through a few orders per week!

I'm tempted to do the same Mike but I'm not a massive fan of the estate.. Suppose ill have to try and be patient!

Might be best to wait then pal, last thing you want is to be spending all that money on a car you didn't really want.

Suppose I was lucky that tbh I'd of preferred the estate but wanted to save a few £££'s for extras. I was going to bite the bullet and change my order anyway tbh (ssshhhh, don't tell the wife) but this gave me the excuse I needed lol.

Nothing heard from dealer since order placed

I just ordered a vRS estate yesterday (2/9/13) and was given the blanket 12 weeks lead time. No confirmed build date. Dealer told me he'd call within a week with it.

One thing they did say was the panoramic sun roof has caused delays but they are now getting build dates of Dec for vRSs with that option.

Haha that was convenient then.

Yeah I'm just gonna wait. If they're starting builds 1st week in November and they only take 23hrs to build it should be here around January. One thing it has told me is that my dealer is totally useless and Skoda UK are your best source of info. The bloke I spoke to was really helpful.

Crazydunc any update from skoda / your dealer?

Crazydunc any update from skoda / your dealer?

Ringing them this afternoon. Will update when I can bud!

just had an update from mitchells, my new VRS is built!  :D

next update is when it hits the port in Germany.

What was your order date, Stu? Late July ish? Think you've done well there!

Oooh you lucky devil!

Oooh you lucky devil!

:)

ive done very well as we originally thought it would be oct/nov delivery.

Order date was July 23rd so 6 weeks from order to build.  That's including a week of shutdown as they were still closed when I ordered.

The race is on now to try and get it before the 25th as thats when my MOT and insurance is due so I'd rather not renew those if I have to.

No doubt the boat will sink now or something stupid! lol

Off to find some new number plate surrounds as my current ones are looking a bit grey.

Have you had a build date yet Dave?

Have you had a build date yet Dave?

Not yet!

Not yet!

:(

Oooh boy... :'(

5 weeks after I placed the order, the dealer calls back and tell me that Platin Grey color isn't an option anymore. I don't know why he didn't know about before now since some of you already knew that. Sigh.

I just hope this doesn't mean that my line in the build que is lost and reset. The dealer didn't know for sure, but apparently the number of orders in Denmark is overwhelming the alloted quota so my car wasn't even put into the ordering que yet as far as I understood it.

As of today, mine is still only at P.

TDi VRS Est: Meteor, Columbus, Variable Foor, Black Pack, ACC, Parking,  Sunset Glass with Grey Interior & Anthracite Alloys
