Woo hoo!! That's brill. Where is your dealer...Grimsby? Mine arrived at Grimsby today but no idea how long it'll take. Dealer has asked us to go to sign finance papers on Sunday.

lol, no its ellesmere port.  We were expecting it next week as they dont deliver weekends but then its turned up today

I just heard back from my dealer today, at the moment my vRS TDI that I ordered on the 24th of September is scheduled to be built in week 02, but he did say that it all might change before then.

 

I'm in no hurry - don't want them to rush it and make mistakes

If you are signing up it can't be far away. Have they given you any ideas & out of interest what part of the country is your dealer in? My dealer can almost see Grimsby and even though car arrived on the ship on the 10th still will be 2 weeks before I get my hands on it.

No clue about when it'll arrive. I'm in Lancashire, about 140 ish miles away. At least I can look at other Octavias on Sunday instead of my daily watch of car porn on YouTube

ordered 23rd July

6 weeks....

Built 2nd or 3rd September (week 36)

9 days.... (not sure about travel time to Emden or how long it was sat at the docks

Delivered to Grimsby Port compound 11/9/13 @ 10:52

Loaded onto transporter 12/9/13 @ 21:09

Delivered to Dealer 13/9/13 pm

 

The dealer could have done the delivery next week but unfortunately were on a short holiday so taking delivery a week Tuesday

 

Heres some pics or it didnt happen (crappy iphone sorry)

 

Nice and high suspension with the blocks still in!  Hopefully that will settle out or it will be getting lowered...  HUGE disks and caliper!

 

The correct gemini wheels turned up!  They look darker in the flesh and really suit the car. Very pleased with them

 

 

The inside looks great with the red stitching.  Ive got my little extra stalk for the adaptive cruise.  Colour maxidot looks great,

 

Couldnt fiddle with the radio as it was still in transport mode.

 

Note: no VRS MODE button.  Just the normal mode button.

 

 

Black pack looks great, not sure about the two tone paint tho

 

 

The dealer somehow managed grab a license with my initials in it!  Great service and he got the plates made early as a surprise

 

I went over to fit the plate surrounds which are from fleabay and look great.  Couldnt find any of the Mlada surrounds but they have the old logo on.

 

Something to note:

The darkened cornering fogs which we arent getting due to the brochure typo.  I didnt check the cornering function but the fog light units do all seem to be darkened inside apart from the reflector which obviously needs to be silver.  Was really chuffed with this as it matches the darkened headlight unit.

 

 

I did a quick video of the auto boot opening but havent got this off the phone yet. Suffice to say its really cool

I ordered my Octy Elegance 1.4 TSI Hatch in first week of July. It arrived at the dealers 2 days ago. Exactly 10 weeks from ordering.

              So I ordered a octavia vrs hatch on 1st Sept and was given a provisional build date of week 48, been on holiday for a week with no internet, just got back now and the trackmyskoda website says its moved forward to week 43! Is this even possible, I thought hatches weren't getting built till week 45...Any ideas?

Yep it'll change again. Mine is currently build week 42 but Skoda UK say it'll defo change as they aren't starting to build hatches until 45.

well on one hand that's disappointing as I'd like my car as soon as possible but on the other I'll only just have all the money to pay for it by Jan without getting a loan so i suppose that's good...

Why pay for it all at once when Skoda are doing PCP's at 0%? Stick the money in a bank, pay the monthly payments and pocket the interest yourself!

Ah, yes indeed, however using the 0% i'd get about £1200 off the total cost of the car but by paying in cash I got £3500 off the total price, so thought I'd go the cash route as I could JUST about afford it...ALSO, slightly off topic, i read the WHOLE octavia vrs thread (57 pages i think) and there were severe reservations about the standard seats and their longevity, I was wondering has anyone got the leather seats and any idea whether they'd be more hard wearing, more comfy etc?

Just spoken to my dealer and my build week has gone forward a week from 44 to 43. 8 weeks ish away now.

Think you need to comment on the best deals for octy 3 thread! I dont know what options you added but unless you added loads that's one hell of a discount bravo!

It was through carfile, the car was £19870 on the road (about £3120 off list price) and then 14% off my options (kessy, canton, blue paint, boot net system and mitsumi) which was another £380 off! Still I am thinking about getting leather seats, everyone likes leather (apart from the poor cow) and it probably will add to the re-sale value.

Mine has come forward from week 47 to 46. Not holding my breath!

My car has arrived in port today and is awaiting disembarkation!

I'm stupidly excited!
