Told the same thing by the dealer here, too - OK to change options up to a week before build.  Johann's 4-5 weeks sounds much more credible, though.

Perhaps some dealers don't mind the hassle of changing an order with a week to go AT THE FACTORY and others just have a five week cut off so that all the changes happen in the admin IN THE UK?  Sounds like it varies from dealer to dealer then.

Interesting discussion on metallic and non-metallic paint.  I've been told by dealers that secondhand buyers always go for metallic, and that it therefore affects prices (simple supply and demand).  Same with green cars (Yeti might be the exception) - they don't sell very well.  Consideredunlucky by some people (why?).

I'd love to know the truth of all this.  Are metallics really any better than non-metallics?  Does the paintwork last better?  Is it better protected?  Does it fade less?

Yes; Yes; the same; No.

On a recent quote I got for some MINIs that I was organising to contract hire for my Company, despite the cost of the metallic paint c. £450 the monthly contract hire rate was less for a car with metallic paint.

I'll let you draw your own conclusion.

Funnily enough I've actually changed my colour from jungle green to moon white today :-)

No cast iron reason , just put the two printed config pictures side by side and went for the moon white and swmbo hated the green ! Anything for peace !

I must agree that the Jungle Green looks awful on the configurator, and had it not been for the Skoda photos on their FL news page, I would not have gone for it.

Fingers crossed I won't be disappointed!

I lack the "courage" to buy a car without seing the colour I've chosen. No brochure/web picyure or colour swatch can ever do it for me-I would never have gone for mine if I hadn't seen and walked aroud a black yeti at progress first.

I think Moon White will be very similar to Audi Glacier White, which up close looks like this:

I think it will be a very classy, subtle colour. It will suit the Yeti well.

The swatch for Moon White shows it as a very light grey. Having seen it and, importantly as far as one can judge from a small swatch, it's difficult to know how it can be called white at all. I would say that it looks grey in the same way that cream looks beige (if that makes any sense), ie if you had to 'name that colour' you'd call it very light grey. I could almost believe that it's a substitute for Steel Grey, ie the grey in the overall palette, albeit a much lighter shade.

(Just remembered, it's also been described as the off-white colour you get if you leave some cheap black socks in with the all-white wash.)

Of course, it may look wonderful in the flesh, but I for one won't be taking a chance in buying blind.

Glacier white looks exactly like you describe on a swatch. Almost like suzuka grey - until you see it side by side with suzuka grey. These different whites and light greys are too subtle to get a feel of on swatches really. You need to see them in context.

This photo helps you get a feel of it. Here, the A8 on the left is in glacier white. The A7 is in Ibis white which is a cooler, purer white than candy white....

As per the Fiat 500 from more than 30 paces off, Moon White will appear to anyone looking as flat white. I think people are needlessly scaremongering here. But yes proof will be in the pudding.

Make sure I see them on Monday!

This gives a better idea of the Jungle Green (taken form the wallpaper screen shot on the 3D configurator).

Very American military!

That looks nothing like how it does in photos and videos of the real thing.

Nah I think that is totally wrong.  It looks like a flat non metallic.  No the only way to judge this colour is to look at the car in the video.  It is FAR more metallic than that dull horrid green shown in the images above.

Agree, but looks much better than the green on the "revolving" Yeti on the 3D configarator.

Don't worry, will not  be changing my order, as I have based my choice of the Jungle Green (Fiat Diesel?) on the video that you mentioned.

Make sure I see them on Monday!

I shall show you on Monday, Once the camera is charged up I shall post pictures of the swatches

Hmmmmmm.........very tempted to change my silver order to Moon White, but it's near impossible to get any realistic idea of what it would look like until cars start arriving in showrooms at the end of the year.

Is it my imagination, or, does the silver trim look like it has a brushed alloy finish on the  "Ambition" interior shot (UK SE trim equivalent), as opposed to the plastic silver trim on the "Active" (UK S trim), as per the current Yeti?

No contest for me there. Do it. :)

That's the Jungle Green & Moon White swatches from SUK, I put my LED torch against them to try and give a true representative of colour (as best I can anyway!)

Jungle Green - amazing and so glad I went for it. Good post Dale, and thanks for puttng my mind at ease over my choice.

Perhaps Progress Skoda would like to sponsor this site - could be good for business?

2Y2Y - I said it would be the same as Glacier White! :)

Very happy with my choice then. Thanks for that Dale.

I can't really comment...  photos are so misleading.  The one at the Frankfurt show had that awful "golden brown" bling on the inside. The other interior trim was piano black on the L&K.
