intelligent light assistant via VCDS on VRS?

Featured Replies

just a thought...

can anyone who has the intelligent light assistant confirm if you get a different stalk on the wheel column to activate it or is it done through software?

As the VRS already has the camera in the mirror for lane assist and has sensors for light assist then would it be possible that ILA is just a software tweak that could be done in VCDS or does it have its own module somewhere?

I'd be interested to hear back from anyone in the know :)

Me too :)

Isn't cornering fogs locked out unless you pay for it, so assume they're locking down settings?

For you Octavia III owners out there, what are your experiences on the intelligent light assistant functionality?

Does the high beam dip quickly enough when meeting another car or when coming up behind one?

ot was pretty easy to turn on in Vcds on the mkii so don't see why it's much different on the mkiii

Yes it works very well in that respect and roads with lots of bends, it probably has faster reactions than I do.

Greenstripe. How do you activate the ila? Is it through the stalk or in a menu?

It's in the menu on the Columbus -then you put the lights on high beam as you would normally by pushing the stalk forwards and let the system do the rest.

so theres a possibility it could be just software if it doesnt have its own module somewhere in the car :)  No doubt it needs a special unit to decode the camera which will scupper my idea!

Sorry, I have no idea as to what modules the system uses and if it would be possible to add. I've also been banned from taking this car apart, fortunately being pretty loaded I'm not feeling the need to do so at the moment ;)

lol! wasnt expecting you to take it apart greenstripe! ;)  Just knowing it works through software and not a dedicated stalk is a start

I love it! I wasn't expecting much but it's brill! I never used to bother with main beam much as it was such a pain continually turning it off but the light assistant works a treat !
