New Octavia RS aproaching

Featured Replies

I agree, looks like an estate sport verson, to me with the bottom spoiler taped up over the rear reflectors.

It's on F-plates which does mean it's some kind of test car. Maybe it is the new RS, but disguised with a normalish estate body in order that the real thing doesn't get spied. Skoda hardly ever let anything get spied and I don't think the new RS will look like this.

Well , like the other pics it appears to have VRS badges , but it is looking pretty tame.

Thanks for posting these.

Thanks again from me too :) .

If it bears any resemblance to the finished article though.....should imagine they might sell, err, none :thumbdwn:

* Unless priced at

.... or do those pictures show that Octavia as a bit Volvoesque???

Hmm, that looks very understated...

The black rear-bumper tape returns on this hatchback version - wonder what that is supposed to hide! :D

Point well taken about the F plates and the blanked-out vRS logos but can't really see how a rear spoiler and some fog lights could make a proper vRS. And, frankly, the Golf V-like rubber-coloured rear-bumper underside is just horrible. It looks outdated and extremely cheap. :(

Looks crap and the passenger door doesn't shut properly.

It's open ?

Certainly looks like what I would be expecting it to be. Tamed and framed... a real shame :(

It looks like they are aiming at people who want a sensible family car first ' date=' with good performance second.

A very different market to fast subarus and EVOs who want performance and appearance first with practicality and luxury as a secondary thing[/quote']

Pointless then really.

There is the sport version and Roo's tasty number which both offer the above.

It would have to be almost radically different and seriosly cheap for me to have the slightest interest. :(

Think I would take an elegance with the TDi 140 otherwise.Plenty quick and good looking

Well, I don't mind that it looks fairly standard (wolf in sheeps clothing), as long as it goes like **** with a nice set of alloys & i'll be happy.

Was roaming on the net bored and found this link to a review of the new vRS but its in German - http://www.autoweek.nl/newsdisp.php?cache=no&ID=3017

The new one looks not bad - and it does, from the article, sound like a 2.0 FSi Turbo engine

Anyways, wish they would hurry up and release it

Or

Of second Octavia-generatie also Rs-variant will appear. In the autumn of 2005 the sport-loving Skoda will come on the market. The enclosed photograph shows how the Octavia will see R possibly. The shown stylingset will have been possibly also used soon loose on every Octavia available, but become to dress the r version. Technique lends R to the Octavia of the golf GTI. Under the cap the same 2,0-liter FSI turbomotor with a capacity of 200 pk and a cross-belt of 280 Nm stand. Old R were still well for 180 pk and 235 Nm. Those obtained already a top speed of 235 km/h and sprintte of 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconden. New R must be to still better performances able. In the first place the hatchback in Rs-trim will only become available.

As babelfish says.

It's in Dutch - hence the .nl signage. :D

No surprises in the article - nothing that we didn't know already. The pictures shown are from the Sport bodykit and don't show the vRS.

Ouch, babelfish really sucks!

Keep them coming :)

There will definately not be that maroon or that blue offered though.

It's difficult enough arguing whether red is better than black, silver, yellow or white :D

Green calipers again though I see

Azzouz

Very interesting Piccs :)

If this is to be the vRS, the pricing will be the deciding factor .

Thank you !

Anyone tried photoshopping these images to take the tape off? And adding better wheels?

It certainly doesn't light any fires looking like this, but with a little imagination, it could look a whole lot better. It'll be a good Q car if it's staying like this.

Thanks for the pics.

I don

Now this is getting interesting... Red bumper spoilers that have been taped up, and a decent rideheight. I like pitt's idea - can someone unicolour those front and rear valances? Then they might start looking much more impressive.
