Comparing the Czech F-plate hatchback with the German 'Ring-testing estate I see a significant difference in rideheight. The estate, with its green calipers, seems the real thing to me. I'm still doubting the red hatch - maybe that was just testing some parts.

Now that blue one is starting to look the part.

With a little spoiler on the back and the bumpers uncovered it will look pretty tasty

Driving my Fabia VRS down the M1 this week I past what I assumed was a new Octavia VRS but with a boot badge showing 2.5 V6 ! I think the 6 was in red. Could it be a move to a diesel option?

Anyone seen one of these ?

body coloured!! :)55gpmerged.jpg22yrmm.jpg:)

Tis getting interesting indeed! Thanks for the photoshops guys.

That estate is looking much better than the red hatch, hopefully they'll get it right in the end but I don't see the flared arches we were promised, yet!

We might just get to see an official pic soon. Skoda often release just one or two photos of any new models like this a few weeks before the motorshow at which the model is launched, and then full photos later on.

Looks a bit Fabia-ish in the chopped pics. Good effort though LYK

This weeks auto express says 2.0TFsi engine confirmed along with 170bhp PD - they are expecting official unveiling early NEXT YEAR which means summer next year for us.

See there seems to be something on the front grill, right where the vRS badge goes.

Yahoooooooooooooooooooooo Skoda look like they have answered my prayers, put me down for a Blue one.

Thought you would have had your deposit down already bud :D

Where do I sign, oops I haven't got the redundo yet :D

Very good pictures, the photoshopping is very good.

any chance the other black tape on the side and the rear bumper can be removed as then we'll have a better idea again.

Photoshopping ? no no, it's real !!!

Those wheels are nice. I don't see why a buyer would decide to change them.

Azzouz, dont worry, we know the ones you posted are real, what LYK has done in the later pictures is photoshop out the black tape to give the car a more normal and much better IMHO appearence.

looks good, a little Merc-ish from the back tho ;)

looking fwd to seeing the new car, hope the saloon looks more mean than the 'sport' model

Auto express stated the unveiling would be at this years September show (Frankfurt?)

They also posted a pic of the 2.0 fsi turbo engine (same as the golf gti) but with the skoda badge stuck on.I accept that could have been photoshopped!

Yes they did confirm about the diesel.

The best bit.......Expect prices from

Wing mirror indicators though.

I bloody hate them or is there some stupid EU rule about having them now?

How does that compare with other VAG cars in the UK?

The MK5 Golf GTI starts at 20k.

The A3 with a 2.0T engine starts at 22.5k but thats either a Quattro or DSG version

The new Leon isn't out yet so the seat owners are guessing about prices of the new sporty versions as well.

I can't see the new VRS being 16.5k as the current sport model is 16150 for the petrol 150bhp version and 17115 for the PD140 diesel.

Either they would have to price the VRS higher or drop the price of the sport , and if they drop the price of the sport they would have to drop the price of all the other models as well

Having the octy too far below the golf GTI could also start to affect their sales as well.

Most reviews say that the new GTI is a great car but 20k is a lot to ask for a golf.

I reckon that would be a good figure for the petrol and I am sure the diesel will carry the usual

i still dont think that front bumper looks right, i like the back of the estate and hatch though. whats with the round driving lamps?? they completely throw the shape and dynamics of the front end off.

look at the seats in the estate as well... 2 tone colouring, black head rests with silver inserts again. the fronts look alittle S3 shaped which will be nice. needs a small boot spoiler on the top of the lid as well.

like the wheels though, look bigger than 17's as the whole car is bigger than the old / current shaped vRS

with silver inserts again.

:orb_upset

why if they were testing the car would they have bothered to put a vRS grill badge on it just to black it out again, seems odd to me.
