  • Insurance renewal time :( Now I had a big heavy slate fall off my roof and hit my car in the winter storms.... this cost £1500 to repair, I was dreading renewal time, as I knew they would sting me, as

Dave did you manage to fix the vibration ?

  • Author

nope..... I tightened up the front wheel bolts which made me feel safer, but still there, gonna go for a rebalance of the front wheels this week :)

another vid, how fast this weekend, sadly my front camera failed, but I have 3 vids to show from my rear camera, here is me overcooking it into a chicane! (you have to push the limits!) knew I was never gonna turn in, so went straight on! lol...

  • Author

got way too fast out of a chicane, and n/s wheels on the kerb got me sideways :)

(by the way , this quality driving skill is why my times are slow! lol)

after checking my rear tyres, I'm now down to 2mm! :o

just ordered some new RSR's from mytyres with a discount code I was sent by email..... £69.54 each delivered :) bargin!

Mmmracer: I did the how fast brisky session today , and I think the 20mm spacers are too much and the angle is causing more wear on the inside edge of the rear tyres... The car was much more oversteery !!! I will upload a vid in a day it so , where I get very sideways on a too fast exit! Lol .... I used to be able to get the tail out with trail braking, it's now doing lift off oversteer! Lol ... It was fun, but it wasn't as fast ... May go down to 15mm or 10mm on the rear .... The 15 mm on the front are fine ...

I thought something like that might happen with the spacers. Only time I have ever had oversteer is when the rears are too cold/wet or when my entry is too fast on the turn in. Best option is a new set of wheels, 17x8 et.35 are a perfect fit with the RSR's. Will be testing out my new combo in 2 weeks at the Vee Dub Nationals.

Got about 10 or so events (12 months on the street as well) out of my first set of RSR's before I got a screw in one tyre (So replaced 2)...they were still not even down to the first line. Value for money almost impossible to beat.

those rears have done about 15,000 miles :) (including all the track days!)

New Tyres currently going on and 20mm spacers coming off!

  • Author

wow. never ceases to amaze me how good a car feels with a new set of rubber on the front! rears look silly now with no spacers at all.... flea bay says my 10mm ones will be dispatched tomorow :)

Ok just done the Wales meet and fed up of the vibration, got back to Petes and took the front spacers off too! Looks like I will need to buy some nice team dynamics alloys with the right offset to look how I want it!

Do adding wheel spacers create vibration then never used spacers

  • Author

It's possibly an old tyre, but I had to take them off and find out, it's the drive home tomorow, well find out then!

  • Author

all spacers off, and a slights tyre vibration still there, but the horrible shaking is gone....

  • Author

not in a hurry mate, but would appreciate the offer! :)

  • Author

are they a nice offset?  dont want to have to put spacers on them ;)

Yeah they're a pretty good fitment, just don't clear my brakes :D

  • Author

would appreciate first refusal :)

Can I ask how you did this please

Tidier - I'd have taken the vRS badge off as well though :)

easy.... hairdryer on hot to soften the glue, something like an old credit card (I used the thin plastic tool that came with the spi vision) to run under the letters to remove them (to be fair, get it hot enough and you can take them off with your fingers!), some fly/tarspot remover to take off the glue, and a quick wash :)

I thought about it...... quite like the grey vRS badge...... It may come off in the future though :) could be a nice sleeper with noting to show on the back at all :)

I'm a fan of fishing line, as it's strong enough to allow you to saw through the adhesive. Plus less potential damage than from a card, plus you don't need to find one to sacrifice!

I'd get a Greenline badge on there.

That will confuse a few people.
