OK, so Jason got his money, lets see if was worth it, after a few hundred miles and the dirt building up again, I decided to wash it, with JUST water from the pressure washer at work, and see if the hard earned was worth it ;)

cleaned up well!

might get him to do it every year if cleaning the car stays this easy!

It will gradually wear off of course.  Let me know when that powerlock stops doing its thing as I have yet to have anyone I've used it on report back that it's worn off and I have been using it on most of my cars polished up since about August last year. :D

they look right, but havent got the part number to hand. just make sure they are for the "ATE" calipers.

I took the part number from this thread :)

just had my 40k inspection service ready for the track season, and all is well with the car, also got rid of the terrible £18 brake pads I had on over the winter, and got some new yellowstuff in.... I have brakes again! gone is the awful "wooden" feel to the pedal, and lack of retardation.... I have good brakes again! :)

My one clocked 35k today !

I feel I will be needing a serving of Yellowstuff shortly as well :)

there are better pads, but for legal reasons , and cheapness, I think they are a good compromise, a bit like the RSRs vs the kumho V70a....

and wow,,, such an improvement today.... seems I had been "putting up " with my cheap pads... they are dire in comparison!

Nice to see you getting it ready, not long to Combe and How Fast. :)

yup, all serviced up, clean bill of health and new brakes :) 2 x 1 litre of oil in the boot! lol.....

I am looking forward to how fast more, just to test the FARB..... (next year will be bilstiens!, year after polybushes! , year aftyer engine mods!  lol)

so looking forward to seeing the yeti in action too :)

happy days :)

Thinking of a full ARB setup for my new Octy but still undecided as the front one in the kits are always thicker than the rears which will mean stiffer laterally but still biased towards understeer.

I understand the maths... but honestly, it has made the car feel much better on the road, mainly because of the more controlled feel of less roll! I haven't been on the track yet (2 weeks! lol) but I cant see it introducing understeer,,

it was a little more oversteery with just the rear on, a more "neutral" handling with less roll and less pressure on one tyre on the front in a corner, should increase cornering speed ....

I will review when I have been to castle coomb and how fast over the next 3 weeks :) I can compair with my last years times at how fast :)

they were made to work together by H&R so I hope they deliver :) like I said, on the road, a noticable differnce adding the fron bar, less body roll always feels better in the corners.... BUT I cannot push the limits of grip on the public road.... so the track times will tell ;)

and martyn I will have to look up your new car! lol.. do you have a build thread?

No build thread. Not sure if I should as the last car had one then it came impossible later on to sell thanks to a select few. If I still have the car in a month I will. Have a few plans for it.

took out my pipercross to day to clean ect ..... did all the recomended stuff (it was 35k old!) but couldn't bring myself to put it back in... seemed a little too oily, even though I was VERY scarce with the retaining oil like they instruct!...

paper filter in for coomb... ahh well, probably give better power than a ****ed pipercross thats 35k old....

True, best to change OEM paper element every 4-6months - Crossland £10.72 and Mann £13.80.

I'd just changed mine few weeks ago :)

900 miles happily done this weekend, havent checked the oil yet ! ;) half an hour of that on track, car performed well, no brake fade, just vibration above 80 mph that I need to sort, will go get the fronts rebalanced and all the bolts checked before how fast next weekend :) here is a vid of the 2nd brisky session!

The new surpassing the old ;)

Clearly giving it some welly there Dave given your setup that you ahould get so much bodyroll. No doubt you were thundering around Combe.

How did the car feel with both ARB's? Big improvement?

Brilliant photos of your car Dave, certainly seemed to be running well :)

it still leans, but I'm not very low, still a lot of suspension travel (and I'm gonna leave it this high) 15mm down at the rear and 20mm down at the front ;) bilstiens and polybushes are next on the list!

the addition of the FARB has made it more stable in the chicanes, the sudden right flick followed by left flick has less weight shift, and is more stable.... should be quicker in chicanes now :)

was faultless, 900 miles since friday and all is well.... I have a vibration i want sorting , but i think thats just front weights, will do them before next weekend for how fast , and there is a new noise from the rear, almost as if a bush on the RARB has come loose, but they are all there and in place! more investigation may be in order, I don't like new noises! lol....

no effect on performance though, ran well :) glad your issue was just wheel bolts! ;)
