Dual exhaust pipes from Vrs

Featured Replies

Is it possible to order the dual exhaust twin pipes from a Vrs to fit the exhaust system on a 1.8 tsi?

If you could just do som cutting and fitting the 1.8 dual exhaust would look marvelous with the dual pipes sticking out as the Vrs.

The twin exit's you see at the back of a mk3 vrs are fake unfortunately, left side has the "real" exhaust sitting behind it but not connected to the visible finisher, right side is a dummy.

If you wanted a proper dual exit system then a custom system would be the way to go IMO.

They're only fake on the VRS TDI. A VRS TSI has real exhausts both sides.

Only the TDI has a 'fake' exhaust as the TSI has twin exhausts. Although the fancy shape exhaust is just trim.

So for the 1.8 TSI it could be only the rear bumper is different?

didn't know that, thanks.

Thank's for clearing things up a bit. I actually though it was a exhaust pipe and not just a cosmetic "thingy"

Does there exist any exhaustpipes with that shape which will look good on my 1.8tsi?

Longlife.co.uk will do a custom exhaust for you, they're pretty cheap too!

Maybe something like this would do if i just cut out the small section on both sides of the exhaust on the back bumper.

you're correct regarding the tdi, but arguably the tsi is a fake too in a way as it's a transverse 4, and twin exhauts only belong on v configerations and old twin cylinder motorbikes IMO

How so? And I haven't heard people complaining about it with the GTI since that's had twin exhausts since the Golf 6. If it works, it ain't fake! :)

PS: Maybe the word you're looking for is "appropriate", not fake.

Nice real "underside" photo, couldn't find before on the site. Looks appropriate enough too me :)

It is interesting that the two exit pipes from the "Y-splitter" are slightly different lengths and that the back boxes are of unequal size. I thought that the VRS sound-generator was attempting to emulate a boxer-engine (which obtains its lovely sound from unequal length manifolds), but perhaps I was wrong. The TSI's slightly off-beat b-bom. b-bom. b-bom burble may actually originate from deliberate unequal length exhaust exit and baffle design. Somehow this makes me feel happier to own a VRS. It seems that it wasn't just Subaru's "Rally Blue" paint colour that Skoda copied and renamed Race Blue. Pretty soon we may see bonnet scoops, 4WD and huge rear wings from Czechoslovakia also .

Wanted to do something similar on my fabia but theres a spare wheel bay in the way!

And race blue isnt rally blue. Theres a slight difference. Not much but enough to know if you try and do a cover up :)

Subaru Rally Blue is indeed slightly lighter than Skoda Race Blue, but most people would never notice unless standing both cars side by side. It's a lovely colour.

It is. I only know because a friend used my touch up kit on his scooby wrx. Still makes me laugh now when I see it. Because I know where it is its the first thing I see!
