Attending the Meet in Whitby

Nice people and nice fish and chips

Nice way to spend a Sunday

But........IT WAS FREEZING

I take it from this that the b****y seagulls weren't using you for target practice.  We were staying in Whitby and were just going out for something to eat, stepped outside and splat.  Went back in, changed, stepped outside again and splat.  You couldn't make it up.  Mind you, wife and daughters thought it was highly amusing.

I forgot my gloves today, -2 and my left hand feels the cold and stops working. I bought a hot lamb and mint pie as a pocket/hand warmer. A pie, the food that gives twice, warmed me up on the outside, and when it had cooled down from magma temp, it was delicious.

This morning I was in a Supermarket and paid a visit to the Gents Toilets, as I went in there was a small boy aged about 3 with his granddad already there. the granddad had his hands full and couldn't do anything about the action that happened next.

The little lad was on his tip toes trying to  peer into the empty urinal next to the old man, Granddad shouted ' Don't Touch Anything' then immediately after said 'NO DONT PUT YOUR HEAD IN THERE' as the kid pulled himself up to get a better look. just as the water cycle started its cleaning spray

The child ended up with his hair and face soaked and water running down from his coat sleeve

The kid fell to the floor in a heap and then hauled himself up using his granddads trousers from behind,

It was obvious that granddad was not expecting an attack from this angle and ended up with a big water stain at the rear of his trousers made by the child and an bigger one at the front, self made.

As granddad and child left I could hear him muttering 'Dear God, how the hell do I explain this to grandma and mummy'

This didn't make me happy but I have been grinning ever since

Had an amazing weekend / start of the week. Sisters birthday meal on Saturday at Leeds' red hot buffer which now has a chocolate fountain with marshmellows! I got a bowl and filled it up with semi molten chocolate and just ate it haha

Then last night I went to see Bruno Mars at Newcastles metro arena which was excellent. Although he didn't half look dog rough close up, hope he isn't on drugs! Was fun though.

  • 2 weeks later...

Bloke on the gate asked me about my Exhaust and told me It sounded "meaty"..

At least they talk to you. They just wave me on. Think the car might have something to do with it tho since it is the only one of its kind on camp and I creep over the speed bumps going on and off camp as slow as I can. Don't be a sheep, be different is my motto :)

A partner of the firm brought round the official Xmas bonus slips today.   Eases the pain of me buying Darkside's manifold a bit!

Eating 5 pancakes before starting work properly.  No good for the diet, but damn they were good!

It being Friday made me smile, especially at about 5.15pm :D

Yep done that as well :D Going off camp I sometimes miss the first speed bump with the drivers side of the car so only the passanger side goes over it.

Visited my sister in Barnard Castle yesterday, not seen her in over 5 years, took her to Tyneside to visit elderly Cousins and a friend of over 50 years.

Great reunions, the icing on the cake was I was driving my new Octavia Estate SE, 270 miles round trip, excellent journey, 57 MPG.

No rattles or bangs unlike my old Freelander,

All in all a very relaxed trip with a smile on my face…. life can't get better!

Best Regards to all and seasons greetings.

With thousands of songs on my iPod I sometimes forget what's loaded onto it. Raised a smile when this came on driving through town

Been a while since it popped up

A delivery man knocked on my door with a big bike box from Halfords. I haven't ordered a bike, we had a discussion..... I checked the invoice, inside the box was the repair panels for my Mk1 Escort I ordered on Friday. Excellent. Off to the bodyman on Thursday for fitting.

Seeing the stackers face when I turned up with 113 5 litre cans of oil in the back of the hilux and said here's all of the oil we don't need any more. His face was a picture when he saw just how much oil I was dropping off :giggle:
