seen lots of these chinese ones on ebay frankly im confused lol

The unit is an Mfd2 and an early version and uses a CD for the map data

The same unit was fitted in Skodas too, although with green illumination I think it was called the nexus

It will fit

As Eddie says, but it has no bluetooth as std.

Also how much have you been offered it for?

By all accounts it's a pretty ropey sat nav.

I sell cars but it came from a car that had been rotten off so nothing but if it has no bluetooth ill pop it on here lol also what's it worth ? And what are my options for bluetooth but I don't really want a parrot would love a touch screen double din unit but have no idea what one and if these £130 jobbies from eBay will do

Advice

Thank you guys

P.s first time I've ever used a forum and the info on here is fantastic :)

I've got a touchscreen nav, dab, Bluetooth ready to go in a mkII in the sales section. Out of the VW group too.

Pictures and cost also do I need anything extra to make the nav work?

Luke

I fitted one of these into my 07 vrs estate and it was'nt a bad unit tbh.

I had the incorrect canbus gateway so if left for any longer than 3 days my battery would be drained and would not start.

no bluetooth as standard.

sold on the mkV forum for £199.

What about these Chinese copies on eBay they tick all the boxes but I have no idea and was wondering if anyone has any experience with these copies

Luke :)

Chinese copies, best avoided unless you like tinkering with software. Members have tried them in the past, some are better than others. Some have major software issues that cause them to crash, they are mostly using a very outdated version of Windows CE.

As there are so many, its difficult to know how they fair until you get one and try it.

The MFD2 in the first post, is quiet old and dated but you can still get new maps for it. The current 2014 version is provided by Tomtom but is expensive at more than £100 just for the UK.
