You need a flash wipe performing on the unit, and it sounds like you might need a new GPS antenna. Antenna a few quid off eBay and the flash memory needs to be performed here on the desk or by someone with the correct hardware and software.

After this message GPS performed 100%. Then, travelling in France, listening to Bonnie Tyler singing guess what? Yes, Lost in France, it failed completely. I was near Orleans, but it showed me as halfway between Marseilles and North Africa; all at sea you could say.

Now got a magnetic GPS aerial and installed on top of unit. It's a bit flaky, but usually gets 2d nav.

Would you know how easy it is to find and fit a proper sharkfin? For example, do the wires from the sharkfin run all the way as a single wire/wires from the sharkfin, so needing to feed through the length of the roof and down the A pillar or is there some sort of connection close to the sharkfin.  As you probably realise from the question I'm not exactly an expert in these things so all help and advice gratefully accepted

Replacing like for like is fairly simple. Ease the headlining down at the back and unclip the wires where they tail off the aerial base. Remove the base. Fit new base & reconnect the cables to the new base.

Thanks. I'll give it a go then.

Just started getting "Please insert navigation DVD"

Superb 64 plate

On checking we have the following info

Delivery port number 3T0035686L

HW-Version H26

SW-Version 6270

Active map coverage -

Active map supplier -

Map Version -

Are we looking for new nav version, new firmware or hard drive failure ?

TIA

In your first post you say you have SW version 6270. That's the software (as denoted by the SW in front of it).  So you need to reinstall 6270 or update to 6276. Then you may need to reinstall the maps (or update maybe would be a good idea).

Brilliant

Are there any links for downloads for these ?

Hi All,

I bought a 2011 Skoda Superb MK2 Green line model. I bought a firmware and maps update DVD. The firmware update went perfect and the unit upgraded successfully. However, the following day when I update the maps the unit has become extremely unresponsive. It will boot up and be fine for about two minutes but then becomes a laggy mess.

Not sure what to do? Do I restore factory settings? Reinstall firmware? Reinstall maps? Or take it to Skoda?

Appreciate any help.

At this point I would advise that throwing fixes at the unit generally won't end well. The old adage "Keep fixing it til it's broke" applies.

Skoda? Well they'll throw a fix at it, then tell you you need to buy a new unit most likely.

If you're close to North Yorks then pop in and I'll have a look.

Hi Rustynuts,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I'm based in Ireland so can't pop in. Any advice on next steps or fixes I can attempt on my end?

Without knowing what your unit originally was, and what you've done to it, then I'd only be guessing. If it were here on the bench I'd wipe the software and reinstall, then reinstall maps after that, but to do this you'll need specialist software and cable to access the unit on the bench.

As said, the more you try fixing it, the more possibilities you have to break it, so I'm unwilling to set you away with a best guess really.

Can you remove the unit and send it to me?

Thanks lad, really appreciate the offer. I was driving today for over 3 hrs and the system restarted itself twice. It also completely froze and couldn't recover.

Out of annoyance and desperation I went and did a factory reset for everything.

It completely resolved the issue. Drove for an hour with the system running smoothly. No lag, restarts or freezing. I also let the car sit off for an 2 hours and drive again for 30mins. Still zero issues.

Praying it will remain that way. Appreciate your response to my worried posts earlier.

Ours has started playing up big style now,  how do you do a factory reset?

Hi, sorry for late reply. It's in the settings. I'll post a pic where it is when I'm in the car.

It's working fine for me since the reset still.

I have a 2011 Skoda Superb with Columbus satnav, which has both a disc slot and an SD card slot. Do I need to upgrade using a DVD or an SD card?

You use a cd or a dvd, depending on what you're actually updating (maps on a DL DVD and unit software on a cd).

I have a 2015 Octavia with columbus/canton system including carplay.  a couple of months ago I started the car as usual, plugged in the iphomne and the radio/system did not work. Eventually turned off the car and started again,  Everything now works except the USB port and of course carplay cannot now find the phone.  and the phone will not charge from the USB port.  The system cannot see any USB device.  Plugging in a USB stick it flashes 3 or 4 times then nothing.

My system info looks different to others posted here - a later model?  :

 What to do?

The Skoda infotainment web site says there is no software update for my car.  But do I need to re-install the software to fix this?  If so where do I get the image?

BTW I am in australia

Cheers Trevor

sorry for previous post.  I now relalise that I have a MIB system so this is not the appropriate thread...  It can be quite difficult to figure out RNS numbers, MIB1, MIB2 etc and what they all mean..

cheers

Hello, I wonder if anyone would help me please.

Just bought a 2008 Superb, It had an 3C8 035 730 (NO LETTER AT THE END) bluetooth module installed, wouldnt connect to my mobile so I bought for £60.00 a 5K0 035 730E, I installed today and now I can connect my phone, the HFP side works great.. but here is the issue,

It connects to the car as a media streamer, it shows track info on both the Columbus and maxidot and playback controls work fine only there is no audio coming through the speakers at all.. that is unless i change the audio under selection to Bluetooth audio and it plays through the mono.. coming only through the drivers door speaker, once this is selected all track info is lost from the display, clearly this isn't streaming right, I am wondering if its a firmware issue?

Tried different phones and its the same for both android (2x devices) and iPhone.

I havent update the firmware as unsure which to use, but my Columbus is

3TO 035 680 (No Letter) HW:03, SW:0904

can someone advise me on which firmware i should update too? or is anyone aware of how to fix the AD2P issue?
