Get your beads out

Featured Replies

Tried to get a shot of my roof but I think my phone was struggling with the sun and macro combination.   :(

Still you get a good impression that 3 month old Collinite 476S is still doing its job on the roof, plus the flake in the lacquer gives a nice purpley tinge in places in the sun.  Bit more impact when roof is dry and clean though.

Trusty Collinite - awesome stuff!

Great picture too - nice to see the metallic pop in the beads

I don't even know why I machine polished it in December. Must have been a nice day. I've generally been a slacker over the winter. Even a two bucket clean has seemed an effort at times.

Disgraceful Jason...LOL ;)  :giggle:

Ordered a new Octavia Combi in January, due to be built next week, and while looking through the forum discovered the Styling and Car Care forum. I've always kept my cars clean but never got into detailing at all, just basic wash but I've had Landcruisers for the last 11 years and they were more workhorses! While waiting for the new car I've started buying up bits and pieces and practising on the wives car so this is the first beading shot!!

Welcome to Detailing

What product did you use?

A comparison is always worthwhile

Looks very good & great Avatar pic

Found some Autoglym super resin polish in the shed and used Meguair's Ultimate detailer on top of it. Have just ordered Collinite 845, Sonax BSD and Poor boys wheel sealant though not to mention tyre dressing, wash mitts, microfiber clothes, drying towels etc etc. Havent got the new car yet and its already costing a fortune!! Will prob need to get a clay bar at some point though? Still trying to get my head around it all!

Nice one

Have a read HERE...That should clarify a few things for you

The best Ive read on't net

Great, thanks for that Chris, some light reading for me!!

It is strangely addictive and satisfying this detailing business, I've spent the last 3 Sunday mornings doing the car rather than going out on the mountain bike for a few hours! Bikes might be up for sale soon the way I'm going!

Wax or sealant?

That is AB project 32 from the previous weeks clean.

That pic was taken after just a wash with GYEON Q2M Bathe+

I quite like project 32...doesn't smell great though does it?

Gives nice beading

No it doesn't, neither does the Gyeon stuff lol.

Some more beading tonight after a second wash this week because of this

Ruddy hell what do the birds feed on round there?

Goodness knows!

I think it'll get done on again though before the weeks out!

Very nice

Thanks

No mate, I've done a few Mini's but never owned one or been on the forum.

No probs, be another northern monkey then :)

Bit of late night beading :).
