Factory fitted Tyres on vRS ?

Featured Replies

Haven't collected my new VRS yet won't get it till next Friday as Im away this week but it has come with Pzero's (19" xtremes)

If you're after a tyre for wet grip which I don't know who doesn't with the English weather and an all round good tyre, I recommend highly the "UNIROYAL RAINSPORT 3"

That's the tyre I next plan on buying.

Collecting our VRS DTI in 2 hours :notme:  I am sure it was fitted with Pirelli P Zero, but they are 19" wheels. Don't think they are good tyres from memory

Bridgestone Potenza S001's on my vrs tdi. Early days at the moment so I'll reserve judgement, but these tyres get slated by several members over on golfgtiforum for having poor traction under acceleration and for being noisy. Michelin, Goodyear or Continental appear to be the brands of choice.

It will be the p-zeros with the 19"wheels, horrible tyres I changed the 4 of mine within 3000 miles they are so bad

Potenza's on my Vrs Tsi. Not impressed with wet grip. Easily slip when pulling from junctions etc.

Trying to find replacements with good rim protection as these don't. Strange thing is I saw a Porsche today with a nice amount of Tyre protruding past the rim. Then realised they're the same as I have already. The Gemini's must have quite a thick rim. So back to the drawing board....

Eagle f1 assymetric 2's have good rim protection.

WHY are they so bad? Grip isn't too bad. Had then skipping under hard cornering....yes within 10 miles of buying it. Have to test its limits. As soon as we touch a kurb the wheels will be damaged

Thanks Allan, Eagle F1's it is. Most of the comments on here seem to say so. But the picture has confirmed it.

Wet grip was shocking, dry grip not much better they are the worst tyres I have ever had on a car. The Eagle F1s 100% better than the pzeros

Allan are they 225's or 235's and I presume 35/19

From memory I think they are 225/35/19

I have the Bridgestone Potenzas on my L&K. They are the extra load ones. I have to say that I am impressed by the rim protection they give. My Turbines look like new and I am really careless. I have had two destroyed by screws in the last six months. The TPS worked great enabling me to get to the garage for a pit stop without the need for the spare.

I had the Rainsport 2's as my damp/wet tyre on my Clio Track car. Amazing tyres in the wet. The only other car to pass me on track in the wet was another clio that was also on them. Porsches/MX5's etc sliding all over the track while I could just sail (excuse the pun) past.
