  • For 23k I'd be in a Cayman.  Not a bleeding Polo.

  • Wow! A bit of a fly on the wall comment in jest has been turned into me supposedly taking the credit for the size of the thread!?! Err...ok...   Just to clarify, I have far more important things to

  • Apologies is this thread is going a bit "off topic", but I'll carry on anyway as there is Golf R content... This is my personal experience of the S3, Golf R and M135i and the respective test drives.

Is anyone aware of any particularly good leasing deals that are availanle on the Golf at the minute?

If you can wait 6 months or so, Keith might have one for you. If you're interested in a Cupra 280, I'll have one for you on the 25th June

There's a great deal on the GTD at the moment £2k deposit + 23 x £119+vat

That's very cheap... Where is that from?

And is it a Business user only rate? Especially as it's expressed as an ex-VAT price??

Golf R vs M135i.

Camera is mounted on the BMW. Golf R gets the initial lead but then the M-lite pulls ahead.

Was that on non - slippery straight roads Tom?

If only every day could be on a dry, straight lined, drive to work and play! .

All fair in love and war and straight lines.

211.6 BHP Skoda with a Tuning Box vs the Rear wheel driver with no idea how much, or Manual or Auto.

(a Briskoda Members Twincharger that features in a few Youtube Vids.)

Usually if you want to pay slightly more a month the deposit is a lot less, that's what I would aim towards. Also I'd want to check the mileage allowance. (sort of Golf R related... as I too am on the lookout for a good deal on the R... had that conversation with a VW BDM just today... and on the GTD so will see what he comes back with next week.

TBH you want to look at the total cost over the term. Hiw they split it is mainly irrelevant. The deposit is there just to insure them against future payment shortfalls :)

They say not, just add the vat for personal :)

Bummer about the 5k a year mileage average is what around 12k. I'll wait to see what the VW man can offer me for now.

Add £35 / per month for extra 7k (6ppm) still cheap at that price :)

Yes never quite understood why the difference is so great, per month, in comparison to just paying the mileage excess. Anybody have any recommendations on companies they have dealt with previously? To avoid "you have a small scratch here we will now charge you £2k to put right" mentality of some places?

Wasn't yours already registered/very lightly used?

I know some of the great deals have gone, but still some good ones out there.

Pre-registered ,delivery mileage only 25miles. Spec, above average add on's.

Just did an identical spec to mine, using this Autocar promoted company and found the following.

Car discount approx.£4150

Discounted buying price £31500 approx.

That is £2100 more than I paid. For my New Pre-registered car WITH 25 DELIVERY MILES ON THE CLOCK.

That suggest that I got £6250 off I also was given 1 extra year warranty and internal car and boot mats thrown in.

God that was a great deal, plus top price for my PX

Bought from a large VW Dealership, who wanted to deal!!

All done online and over the phone.

A good Golf R deal been posted today -

23 x £185+vat

Deposit £2k+vat

8k / 2yrs

About as good as I've seen for a few months :)

Doubt these will last very long.
