  • Wow! A bit of a fly on the wall comment in jest has been turned into me supposedly taking the credit for the size of the thread!?! Err...ok...   Just to clarify, I have far more important things to

  • Apologies is this thread is going a bit "off topic", but I'll carry on anyway as there is Golf R content... This is my personal experience of the S3, Golf R and M135i and the respective test drives.

Report / review, whatever.

I wasnt being picky mate.

I couldnt find it.. Haha.

Cheers

I did that deliberately. It's more relevant in what / how they do it to Skoda drivers, rather than specifically for modifying a Leon.

Nice but just too obvious.,IMO   No cloak of Invisibility.

I spotted a 64 plate MK7 Golf R in Grey in a Tesco car park,

and there was a GTD badge on the boot. It was a 'R'.  I liked that.

Interesting option to R400?

Wonder if they do  warranty cover stever750?

Or the host of other options :http://www.vwroc.com/forums/forum/59-tuning-your-golf-r-mk7/

Or this one :http://www.evo.co.uk/volkswagen/golf-r/14876/revo-volkswagen-golf-r-review-and-pictures

Warranty  covered- I doubt it some how.

FWIW, I was told by the techy at Skoda newport that the Cupra and the R have identical engines, apart from ecu profile. 389 isn't bad, but needs stage 2 stuff adding, which shows the Super Nova guys getting 380 with the std engine interesting. I'm still getting used to what i think is around 320, maybe 330 at most. 4th Gear is performance is up there with the big capacity BMW diesels (335d / 535d etc) 334Nm/Kg vs 352Nm/Kg, the 5 series will of course be closer as it's heavier. A Golf with 4WD and another 50bhp / lb/ft of torque is another step up. Bonkers.

I'd love to be able to justify buying one of these beasts :(.

The justification is easy, ding the pennies is the hard part!

Shark have just released their S1 map for the Golf R, and nice it looks too. The headlines for those interested are 350bhp  / 475Nm. Given they are quoting the same for both the 280 and 300 bhp versions, the assumption is the same engine base.

That map, and a Golf R wagon would make me very happy indeed :)
