How did you manage that fella???

Really tight parking spot outside my mums house.

If I couldnt park it there, it would mean leaving it on the next road out of sight, where some kids where playing footie in the road.

Squeezed it in, but just caught it on the final lock in :(

Its easily done Dave

It is. Especially how these alloys stick out

Glad you got it sorted anyhow.

Saw this at the National meet - looks great.

Cheers guys

Just seen this thread Damo read from start to finish. Love the new bling alloys. Eagle f1 for tyres next time for tyres might have prevented the kerb rash. Good result with the stereo. The car lives up to it's name now, Superb ( not Susan ) !

Thanks Alan

See you at the Yorkshire meet on Saturday

HI Damo

My splitter has just turned up from Superskoda - appears to have about a dozen nuts bolts and washers as a "fitting kit" - the holes on the spoiler seem smaller than the bolts - had a quick grope around underneath the car and of course there's no corresponding holes to put them in.  "No problem" I thought - I'll come and have a look at how you attached yours......but I've just reread the whole lot and you skipped over it quite quickly!

Looking at it, it almost seems to be easier to use some self tappers to attach it......how did you do it? - any tips?

Also ordered this which is a decent price and really nice quality - has rubbery back so it doesn't move around

And that man logic of adding more stuff to decrease the postage thing kicked in and I added this

Comes with a tube of glue to attach it!  "Betalink K1" - have been googling it and it does appear that people like BMW use for attaching spoilers without additional fixings....

Thanks

I'm not saying it's how Damo did it but the Leon Splitter used on the Fabia vRS is always attached by self tappers into the bottom of the plastic bumper.

I couldnt find a reasonable way of attaching the supplied nuts and bolts, without removing the undertray and whole bumper, so that wasnt an option for me.

I used self tappers in the holes already pre drilled in the splitter, as well as drilling a few new ones with a small bit and more self tappers.

Also the glue supplied is really good stuff, so just use all the tube on the large flat areas of the splitter (as it shows in the really poor instructions) and when you tighten all the screws, it will form a nice tight bond.

It is messy stuff so be careful, and use a wet finger or implement to smooth out the glue that will be on show.

It hasnt shifted an inch since fitting, and thats including a few scrapes on steep inclines etc.

Great bit of kit the splitter, well made and looks fantastic

Good luck with the fitting, will make it look evil on your all black superb!

Cheers

Damo

Finally, Susan has gone in for her new Columbus unit fitting

In the mean time I have this to run around in...

Must say, Im very impressed with the 1.2 TSi engine

Surprisingly nippy, even in a large car and very nice on the Motorway too

Bit lacking in the toys dept, but I am used to the Superb's creature comforts I guess

Hopefully, I get mine back tomorrow with a brand new Columbus and latest maps disk :)

Is that a courtesy car from DM Keith?

Is that a courtesy car from DM Keith?

Why yes it is...

I take it you recognise the reg from seeing it there sometime?

Was just a hunch.  The first two letters on the reg looked like they came from that sort of area.

No flies on you Jake :D

Like a modern day Columbo, me.

Lets hope I get a modern day Columbus unit too :D

Still not got it back yet then?

Still not got it back yet then?

Got the phone call to say it was ready at 5.30pm last night, and its a half hour drive from mine to theirs so left it until this morning.

Just got back now.

I am really happy, it has voice activation which my old one didn't

Info is

Part No. 3T0035680L

HW Version H10

SW Version 5270

Map Version 8048

Does that sound about right?

Only downside is I've got to go back, as apparently they had an "issue" with the aerial, so they have ordered a new connector or something.

So thats another 50 odd mile round trip and time/fuel/miles on car :(

Yep that's good.... Those are the current v11 maps.

I didn't realise you hadn't got the voice activation on the old one..... It just shows you how old it actually was then!!! I've used the voice activation a couple of times so far.

Glad you've got it all sorted and are happy with it.... ;)

Oh yes, happy with the Columbus, but not happy about my passenger seat...

They have seriously scuffed the leather in 2 places, and several indentations where it looks like a screwdriver was placed on the seat and leant on!

Just phoned up DM Keith to complain.

I will now await the call on Monday from the dealer principal, to find out how they are going to solve this...

So frickin peed off  :swear:

Thats not good Damo

Good luck resolving it

They really do sound like a mare when it comes to both sales and service don't they.

Hope you give 'em a rollocking tomorrow and get it resolved..... And we used to think Bickertons were bad in days gone by!!! At least they have now come good of late.
