Todays tedious task was to paint the callipers...

Decided to go for blue, as Skoda's are usually green and red.

Wanted something different and yellow wasn't my thing, so blue it was

What a PITA it is doing them, 3 coats each.

Rears to do tomorrow if the weather stays fine

Cheers

Did you brush paint them or was it aerosol/spray paint? I put the same sort of shade of blue on my Rover 600 sport's calipers a few years ago. That was a very dark metallic blue car so was a similar look.

Cheers

Dave.

You cant see any brush strokes at all, if thats what your worried about

I used the caliper paint from halfords, about a tenner. That foliatec stuff is double and just the same

Just finished painting the rear callipers, thankfully the weather was beautiful, and dried them in no time

The first coat was a PITA, but the subsequent coats are a piece of cake

Remarkable how much better it looks now

Love the blue as well, bit different than the norm and isn't too lairy like yellow would be

Cant wait for Wednesday now, to get the drop its crying out for

Cheers

How much are you lowering it by buddy?

They are 40mm springs mate, so hopefully at least that

I reckon with the gap I have now, double that would be more like it needs!

If only I could afford £2.5k for Air :(

I've also seen a set of h&r 40 mm springs will be good to see what you think and if it's still as comfortable as the current set up. Air would be good... just lots of money.

Jake, this is an ideal time to copper slip the centre bore chamfer of the wheels (so they don't stick onto the hubs), obviously you need to remove the wheel to do that though, the only way of removing them whilst on the car is by damaging them.
