My ver 3 TDI VRS has done 3 regens in its first 1800kms that I've noticed i.e. high idle and burnt coffee smell afterwards.

Is this normal compared to others experiences with your ver 3 VRS's? My old ver 2 FL Scout only did this 3 times I can remember in 3 years and 70000 kms so...?!

I wouldn't worry, mine did about the same but it did settle down and now does it less often.

Yeah they do it alot when new, does settle in time.

Wondering if there might be some clag in the engine thats there from the build process that gets burnt off gradually, the build up enough to trigger the regens.....otherwise perhaps some kind of run in mode forced by the ECU?
