Too many people on here think fabia are the best lol. I'm greasy and have both :)

I love French cars too. I've had a saxo vts and a clio 197 Cup, both were cracking cars. Always liked the 182 as well. Infact I like all the Renault sport range!

Awww thanks guys! You're all just cheeky lurkers haha

My wheels are kerbed to **** thanks to the previous owner/s so i'm refurbing them this week hopefully.

I'm totally undecided on what colour to do them, what do people think? I know ultimately it's my choice but throw your thoughts into the mix :)

Cheers.

You did WHAT to him?! ;)

Small update.

Gave it another wash tonight and another layer of wax as I think I may have rushed the second coat the other day as it wasn't beading everywhere as much as I liked.

The pics make the bonnet look a bit dull but it's just hazing from the weather tonight

Also, I made a Facebook post the other night asking if anyone had an iPod or mp3 player I could buy to keep in the car. My friend replied and said I could have her iPod 8gb nano for free! So happy and grateful. Will save me killing my battery on my phone when i'm driving around.

The other day I set out to adjust the exhaust a little bit. Due to the mounts being a bit deadafied it's not sitting them correctly. So with a cable tie or a few I pulled it to the middle a bit more!

Before:

After. Sorry for the dark pic!:

The leather/alacantra seats are a tad bobbly! Classic problem apparently so I got my trusty bic safety razor and shaved it, it worked okay but I could really do with a proper de-bobbler machine

I then applied by front bumper black inserts. These are standard on the car but are foten removed once they deteriorate or are removed for a bumper respray. Mine aren't there so  got some. Before:

The wheels are off completely to be shot blasted Monday for me to spray them :D Can't wait as they're such a let down at the moment.

I got my wheels back from the shot blasters. The finish on them is great, I expected lots of pitting like when I had some wheels done before but it's smooth :)

14485210420_4d7616d42f_b.jpgDSCN2426 by dann2707, on Flickr

They've got kerbing marks on them but I filled them in later.

More updates from today and the other week that I forgot about.

I ordered some silver indicator bulbs for the front and rear after seeing someone elses that inspired me. Came to £9 for all four in the end which I think is a decent price. If anyone is thinking of changing theirs, it's an offset fitment for the bulbs.

This is the nasty fried egg look before the change...

And the replacement bulbs :)

Before

Afters

Now onto the fronts

After!!

Front one was lovely and cracked.

I then started spraying my wheels with the base coat. But during this, I painted my calipers. Went for smooth silver hammerite, goes on so well after being wirebrushed. Really impressed with the quality. I only applied two coats and it seems very thick.

Before. Excuse the rusty discs.

I used a vice to prevent the piston from unwinding which would give me trouble i'd imagine not having the wind back tool.

Really really happy with how they've turned out today, they're baking in the conservatory now ready for lacquer tomorrow.

Thanks :)

Thanks mate. All lacquered!

Really pleased with them for a rattle can job. I don't expect them to last forever / be super durable but they've got to be better than this...

Cheers dude!!

Update time :D

I received some new A pillars in the post as I attempted to spray mine black but for some reason, despite using plastic primer and doing all the necessary steps, it just flaked off as you can see.

14533007970_8b1b824909_b.jpgDSCN2472 by dann2707, on Flickr

I then removed all the paint from the centre caps with wilkos paint remover.

14739534163_c0505b1484_b.jpgDSCN2471 by dann2707, on Flickr

Primered them using plastic primer, got a coat amount of cover on them

14716508541_782cf6967a_b.jpgDSCN2476 by dann2707, on Flickr

Then finally sprayed them.

14696687766_26eeb6230e_b.jpgDSCN2487 by dann2707, on Flickr

Then today I went to change the wheel bearing as when I got the car, the nut was crazily loose which had caused damage. When I removed the hub, the bearings fell out of their cage which isn't ideal. So I changed that...

The outer race was on the knuckle fairly tight as you'd imagine so got the grinder out and started taking it apart and managed to get it cracked off.

14716528381_5f49026773_b.jpgDSCN2493 by dann2707, on Flickr

New bearing in woooo

All back on!

14719712285_da69fe7b60_b.jpgDSCN2496 by dann2707, on Flickr

I then started sanding back the renault badges on the centre caps as they were a weird colour. Managed to almost get a brushed aluminium effect as shown on the centre caps themselves

Now i've just been out and got some final pics of the wheels on :D Well happy with how they've turned out. Pics make them look more black than anthracite but they're not really.

Needs the tyre soap removing fully and some tyre shine applying but that can come at a later date. Knackered atm. These pics also show the caplipers behind the wheels. Glad I didn't go for anything tacky like red.
