Looking good Dan.

How you find the orange peel with a rattle can?

Thanks John!

Fairly bad if i'm honest, well not too bad but easy to sort.

I always thought once you got orange peel that was it, jump off a cliff sort of material but it's actually really easy to sort out to get perfect results.

I just sand them flat with something like 2000 grit wet and dry paper until until it's visibly flat and smooth then polish it up with a medium cutting pad with a very low cut polishing compound and it brings it up great.

How did you get on with spraying your wheels?

Well there's some good parts to this post and some bad points. The good point is... the spoiler is on and you get a real jist as to how it looks.

The bad point is, the finished product doesn't look fantastic. For some reason i've managed to strike through the lacquer when trying to flat back a lacquer run so I can't polish it out. Really annoying. Also overnight it appears that the lines from the GRP finish have come through. My friend who owns a sprayshop has informed me that it's ****ing nigh on impossible to get a great finish with aerosols with a GRP material as you need something decent and thick like the paint applied from a gun in a  bodyshop.

So i'm going to send it to him to get it sprayed as i'm deep down not happy with the finish but I think once it's properly done it's going to look great as shown! I'll live with it for now but as i'm sure some of you will know, I'm not really the one to let things like this slide :( haha

Other than the finish i'm not particularly happy with, what do people think to the style? I think it looks great for the price but interested to hear what others think about how it looks.

I've spent too much today already - Just ordered the Bilsteins!! Got them at a f**king bargainess price too as I ordered them from a german website directly rather than over here. Crazy how you can save £300 by doing that?!?!

They're B14's and these ones here.

I've also just received my small polishing pads from China. These came in less than 2 weeks and was only £13 for all of them delivered.

I used these before and achieved excellent results with them correcting my Ford Focus and Metro's paint before so for the price I'm well happy.

Yep going to do exactly the same for the Fabia's B12s. £400 from Germany, £600 from a UK company...

I've just ordered a new clutch for £80 from Eurocarparts due to this thread here: http://www.cliosport.net/threads/juddering-when-setting-off-revs-dipping-when-coming-to-a-halt-etc.764018/

I remember when I got my cambelt done the specialist said that he thought my clutch was on its way out anyway! That was 4 months ago too haha.

I've had the PilotSport3's on for 2 weeks now and I am really impressed with them in both the wet and dry. However, they really do start to degrade in performance in lower temps, which are to be expected as they are a summer tyre pretty much. I've had them losing quite a bit of grip in 5 degrees or less. Some quite scary moments coming off roundabouts etc. But overall i'm really happy with them as they stick to the road so much better than my mismatched budget tyres before!

Nothing else really to report!

My V6 spoiler and washerblanks are at the bodyshop and the guy who is spraying it is constantly keeping me updated with what's happening which is nice. This weekend is hopefully going to involve me and my friend Matty fitting the Bilstein B14's if they arrive in time. Me and a friend are receiving ours at the same time from Germany haha

I've also got the arch clips someone here showed me but like his, mine are being stubborn and not coming out of the arches. Also going to clean the car this weekend and give it a winter detail :D

Sorry for the massive post haha not really like me but I have no pics :(

Cheers Chris!

Little update today, whilst waiting for my coilovers to arrive, which they still haven't haha :( I thought i'd give the car a little winter detail and i'm really glad I did as per the pics will show, despite only claying it around 3 months ago loads of contaminants came off the paintwork.

I used Natty's blue paste wax. It felt like I was just applying polish which is great, easy on and off. And now whilst typing this I can still smell it on my fingers, it smells lush!! My only issue is i've read it's not too great for longevity which isn't ideal for winter but next week i'm going to apply a second coat of it.

Started with some Bilt hamber auto clay!

Then applied Prima Amigo by hand along with the natty's paste wax. Applied meg's tyre dressing, auto finesse revive to the plastics and also sealed the wheels with poorbooys wheel sealant. Love that stuff too as it's so easy to remove.

After pics, it was getting dark and i'm definitely no photographer (exotic pictures of my street)! Thanks

I also received some pics of the washer blanks and spoiler mid way being done from my friend who works in the sprayshop. The spoiler has had it's first coat of primer in the pic, will be flatted back and given the second coat tomorrow. He's really putting a lot of effort into the spraying of it and it's filling me with so much confidence, it's great! :D

I've been spending more money on car parts. I genuinely can't stop!!

Ordered:

• A genuine boot cargo net as it was £9 on eBay (none left though in case anyone asks for a link :( )

• 10mm Pure motorsport stub axle rear spacers as I heard a few times that the 15mm's scrape

• 20mm hubcentric spacers for the front from @incy-spider

• Valeo clutch which is being fitted Friday

But anyway, the coilys came today which was fantastic service as that's a week from Germany.

The opening was such a **** tease as there were so many boxes!! haha

I might fit them Friday after my clutch is done as i've taken the day off work. Week is going to drag like hell though :(

Tonight I made progress with the coilys!

I went to Homebase and spent possibly the best £15 I have all year, on a 400w work lamp. So so good as due to it being such a high wattage bulb it gives off a lot of heat too so there I was at 10pm tonight working on my car in just a T-shirt (had trousers on though lol) haha Really helped me do this job.

Here is the light in all its glory. Showing up lots of swirls up close not on the pic :( Can't wait to correct the paintwork when the better weather comes !

15985759272_1b84d6eb34_b.jpg20141209_184550 by dann2707, on Flickr

Then started removing the associated parts. Removing clio struts is possibly the easiest thing in the world. Undo the top three bolts (pure solid mounts uses three allen key bolts to hold it in), the undo the two 21mm nuts on the hub, knock the bolts out of the hub and it's off.

I came across a massive problem though, when undoing my three bolts for the top mounts one of them was ridiculously loose and it turned out it had snapped! And another bolt was massively bent! I'm not sure if they quality of bolts provided with the pure top mounts are up to the job as they seem like really cheap metal in my opinion. So I rushed up to ASK which is my local automotive store and got some super mega awesome high tensile steel bolts which are surprisingly not made out of cheese.

15799154000_0b3388bfb3_b.jpg20141209_185538 by dann2707, on Flickr

I then removed the topmounts and fitted them to the new coilovers.

15799042458_068eca57b0_b.jpg20141209_191055 by dann2707, on Flickr

All on :)

15799167910_90a75b180e_b.jpg20141209_192540 by dann2707, on Flickr

And finally an after pic! More pics to come when the spacers arrive and it's settled and i've adjusted it as to how I want it :D

Well guys, I got the car back from the garage today after having the clutch done. Went for a Costa with a friend through the day. Fully recommend the orange hot chocolate, it was amazing!

15820088637_ed2bf06da4_b.jpg20141212_135801 by dann2707, on Flickr

Anyway I got in the car and...

Hory-Shet_large.jpg

I nearly put my foot through the bloody footwell. I couldn't actually believe it, it felt so light. I genuinely was concerned they hadn't done the job properly. I went for a drive back home and it feels amazing. So smooth and so effortless to press now, it engages so quickly. Can't get over how happy I am with it. I'm not the one to exaggerate over something so bleak as a clutch but it's improved the drive SO much :D Only cost me £175 in labour too in the end. £25 cheaper than I anticipated.

I got home and started fitting the 10mm stub axle spacers from Pure

DSC_0108%20(600x399).jpg

It was very cold and I had to do the job quickly as I wanted to take the car back to the garage to tighten the hub nuts back up to 175nm as they have a torque wrench but here are a few before and after pics.

Fitting them was really easy. Simply undo the 2 x 17mm nuts holding the rear brake carrier to the hub, then undo the 30mm (I think) hub nut taking care not to lose the washer that is under the disc and taking note which way it goes on as it's very important!

Then this reveals the 4 torx bolts. I find it bizarre how 3 of them are the same and 1 is a smaller size. I thought someone had bodged it initially with wrong sized bolts!

16003886411_46d9528d1f_b.jpg20141212_164843 by dann2707, on Flickr

Then slide the stub axle spacer in and fit the new bolts and nuts.

Now for some shocking before and after pics. HATE the dark. You can sort of see the difference. It is only 10mm though.

Got my cargo net through the week, such a bargain at £9!!

I also sent a message to the seller thanking her and she sent me this reply. What a lovely woman! Love the xmas spirit haha

And the net itself

Used it when I went xmas shopping on saturday and it's awesome. Such a handy accessory.

I then received this through from @NorthloopCup, it's an extended accelerator pedal for heel and toeing. I've tried it in the past on this car and with my stupidly small sized 7's it just isn't going to happen. Hopefully this will improve things :D

I started tackling the rear mounts as they are shot to pieces. Surprisingly easy as I expected the bolts to be rusted in but not a problem. Used an impact wrench too which is the ****ing nuts for saving time.

The old mounts haha!! Previous owner tried using cable ties and jubilee clips originally as the original mounts were shot. I tried to even it out a few times wit them but it was pointless.

I then packed the new mount with sturdy pipe at each 4 sides and cable tied them in place. Just to prevent the new mount from moving as much as no doubt it will fail soon with how flimsy they are standard.

My old 172 rear exhaust mount went the same way a few days after purchase and damaged the back box so thought it a good enough excuse to go for a full K-Tech stealth system to accompany the new mount. It sounded awesome

I really want an aftermarket kit mate, this one is too quiet as standard :(

Today I cleaned the car some more and gave it another coat of Natty's paste wax blue as last week I gave it one coat but needed to stick another one on.

I also adjusted the tailpipes to the right. I realised how I could do it. Simply remove the rubber pipe I put in the left and right positions of the mount and put more at one side compared to the other. Hard to explain!

Anyway, instead of just posting the pics in my same old fashion as that gets boring I thought i'd trawl through my thread when I first started it 6 months ago and get the pics in the same angle and compare, just to see the differences, if any, that have been made! Some comparisons are fairly obvious. Some not so!!
