Electrical problems

Featured Replies

Hi

I bought a Skoda Fabia last July, 11 plate.  Last night the windscreen wipers wouldn't stop even when I took the keys out of the ignition, I had to take the fuse out to stop them, tonight I went to the shop and the following lights were on my dash: EPC, control system for exhaust and the brake system light.  It was only serviced in May  Can anyone help me please

Is the car out of warranty?

If it is best to get it scanned with vcds first

where are you located?

It is out of warranty, I'm in Leeds. I'm absolutely skint at the moment so am a bit brassed off!

Sounds suspiciously like corrosion in the wiring loom causing a short...

I would take it to the dealer. Even if it's out of warranty, you may get some sort of good will considering if it's some sort of catastrophic failure. Have you checked the drainage plugs on the car?

No I don't know where they are! When it was just the wipers I rang dealer and they said it would be £90 to check diagnostics.

find someone local to you who can do a scan

was it fuse 44 that you pulled for the wipers?

did you pull other fuses out?

Just double check fuse 44 is in?

It's not in cos its the only way to stop the wipers. I put it in if it rains
