traction control problem

Featured Replies

As tittle says I have developed a problem today just after fitting front poly bushes. Its fine driving on normal roads but as soon as it gets on the motor way doing 50-60 in either 5th or 6th the tc light flickers on when trying to accelarate cutting all engine power. Any ideas what could be happening? have I just knocked a sesor or something? its just puzzling why its only in higher gears/speed and not lower gears/speed when its happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does your ABS work normally?

yeh seems to, no abs lights on or anything

Turn your ASR off using the button. Does the abs kick in unnecessarily when braking from 60?

Probly abit of rust sitting around the sensor or on the bearing pickup.

Remove the abs sensors and give them a wipe, then clean the back of the bearing were the pickup is. If the sensors are tight see if you can get a thin cloth behind it and give is a quick rub.

problem now diagnosed, fitted two new tyres on the rear yesterday but instead of using 215/35 i used 225/40 as they are the tyres I'll be using on the front next week and due to the minor rolling speed difference between from and back wheels it causing the fault to come up
