^That's the reason I've specced the variable boot floor. It's invaluable in the Citigo.

  • It's a mini Octy but I quite like it!

From the Autocar review in post #72:

Thats ok, certainly better than my Mk2 hatchback. Thanks

Also the saleslady informed me the estate can now be ordered with a sunroof and a removable towball.

Im really frustrated this wasn't an option at launch! :-(

Its not on their online configurator though

HI again folks.  Hudson1, as far as I could tell when I viewed the Estate for real, the back seats did not lift up as you wished they did, but the squabs did go more horizontal when the headrests were raised before lowering the squab.

Stug45, the configurator is rubbish - it only allows one choice of engine and not all the options are there.  The saleslady I saw showed me the printout from Skoda which confirmed you can now order the sunroof and a detachable towbar for the estate - just no prices, but expected to be similar if not the same as for the hatchback..  There was one other option that is now available but I forget what it was - wife thinks it was to do with the roofbars!  (Old age creeping in again) - me that is, not her!

I just wish the more powerful diesel (105PS) was available with DSG - God knows why its only available with the 90PS engine - hey ho!

I'm hoping SWMBO will agree to us ordering one for September 1st but she's a bit focussed on the new Audi Q2 promised for sometime in 2016.  Probably about £8000 more!!!!!

Shows the rear space and seats.

Shame it sounds louder & rougher than a Tractor.

Agree that french review does sound like an out of service tractor !!! Maybe not 1.4tdi then

Worth noting how the sills look as rough as boars **** and nothing like how they looked as Skoda were 'leaking' pictures in the 8 months of build up to them being on sale.

At least the Monte Carlo and Outdoor versions will have some Plastic coverings making them appear less down market. (Cheap)

Underbody Protection & sills with coatings are all fair enough when done well,

but the cars / estates with rear drums still are just the same Grey Coating that has cosmetic corrosion in no time.

Time will tell how much penny pinching has gone on building the 3rd Generation Fabias.

(4th Generation Really.,

1. Fabia 1999,

2. Mk2 Fabia 2007 ,

3. Mk2 Fabia Face Lift 2010,

4. All new 4th version 2015.)

Am I the only one who thinks it screams "I can't afford an Octavia"?  :x

Still love the look of it though

Just realised that a fully specced up Fabia Mk3 with a 1.2 DSG will cost similar money to a Polo GTI. Interesting ...

But there's no Polo estate.

But there's no Polo estate.

And there's no Fabia vRS.

Depends on what you want, the Fabia Estate has always been a good seller simply because it has more room than any of it's rivals in a very small space and is well put together. It doesn't shout "I can't afford an Octavia" simply because it's a much smaller car in a different market segment, people buy if for that reason. It's far easier in town to maneuver than an Octy and just as practical. We have had a Golf for the past few years simply because Skoda didn't do a diesel auto for the Fabia, I looked at the Octy but it's now way too big (yes, bigger than the Golf even!)! The Polo estate, when it was around in the early 2000s was a good alternative but until very recently the other supermini estates were tiny compared with the Fabia...

Horses for courses, most people who buy estates are there for practicality rather than performance... Probably why there's not a vRS version either!

Seems like the nice people at Autocar didn't flip the bases, which should be possible according to the owners manual.

And there's no Fabia vRS.

But this thread is about the estate. :)

Coming out very soon are the Seat Leon Cupra 280 ST, Golf R Estate, Golf GTD Estate, Ford Focus ST Diesel Estate and many others just because many do appreciate Practicality & a bit of performance.

Dual Use practical vehicles for Business, Family, Recreation & Sporting Driving that suits the UK & other World Region markets.

Seat Ibiza ST's are a rather nice estate IMO, and not exactly cramped,

& shares the same components obviously as other VWG vehicles of similar prices.

I went off to the Trafford Centre today and there was an SE L estate at the stand..... very nice in the flesh ! Its now top of my fabia wish list, yes the seats don't appear to go totally flat but they are down enough and the back with the seats up is a big improvement on the hatch if you want/need extra room.... i even got filmed as i '' appeared '' to know a lot about the brand and the model.... they were asking me what i thought and what i liked about the car.... i did get in the bit about it being nice for a VRS version !! They were not from Claybank as another post mentioned, they were all from HQ.... I even managed to mention Briskoda in the piece to camera !!!

But this thread is about the estate. :)

But may be in 6 - 9 months. Apparently ...

Obviously we will see what we see when we see it.

Skoda CZ might even have a new CEO by then, because the current one does not half sign off some real sales disasters & shockers,

at least sales disasters in the UK.

If he believes that Sporty Looks & Sporty names are what people really really want,

maybe best they get some Top Management in that can read the markets better,

or maybe is less just doing as the VWG impose on Skoda.

  • Really nice one at a very good local dealers Motorline in Gillingham

If there was a mk3 vRS estate I'd be very interested. Come on Skoda, get one buit!

My Octavia vRS Estate would disagree with that statement....  :p
