Sainsburys Christmas Ad

to share insinuates a part or portion and he give him it all? so christmas is for giving and doing without? is that what the advert is actually about..... the sad fact is thats what will happen this christmas and has happened many Christmases before, Parents break their banks to give the kids the most expensive worthless crap they can find based on a fallacy that give some fat white bearded man the credit when it comes to who provided them?

good advert tho.

Great advert that gets past the usual nonsense that tries to show you that you can only be a decent person by spending a fortune on rubbish that normally will not get used past boxing day.

I find your response offensive. I work hard, earn a reasonable wage and as such I'll spend as much as I damn well choose on my children.

“It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so ****ing what."

As much right as it gives you to tar all parents with the same 'Bank Breaking' brush I suppose?

I've never really been into the whole S&M scene, save buying a ball gag for someone who'd appreciate it.

and from your pervious comments i didn't have you down as the disrespectful kind of person to turn down a gift.....

at least you know your place tho ;) you with the ball gag an all !

If only Sainsbury's had just donated the ad to the RBL and left their own logo off it.  I've lost a dozen mates in the last 13 years military strife, so the ad really struck a chord, but the commercialism of the ending tarnished it.

RIP CXX/3

I'm somewhat puzzled as to how any of my comments are 'of a substance allowing water to pass through' ;)

I was always taught never to accept gifts from strangers. I'm sorry if my disrespect causes you offence, oh.. wait...

Interesting point.

1. Last time I checked I was a parent.

2. No, you didn't mention my name, yet the fact you state 'parents', in the general sense rather than perhaps 'some parents' infers that this is your opinion of all parents.

3. IMO it's reasonable to think that your comment was aimed at me be it indirectly or otherwise.

Maybe you think theres there's some truth in my statement i made and the old saying "truth hurts"

Maybe I don't.

Luckily indeed.

At first I did not understand why You went from a positive post Xmas, Mankind, nice feelings etc.... To a negative anti xmas Spin!!

Then you clarified it...

Fully understand your dislike of xmas... For you...its pointless.

I feel sorry for you missing out on all the joys a good Xmas for our kids can bring to us. it's priceless.

So you will deprive them of the age old Magic of Santa.... That has enthralled children for years... Simply To satisfy the need to let them know "I bought that"

Ah well....... That sums it all up.
