Kenny,

Lets call this a day before it gets out of hand, we all have what we think is a good map for our own vehicle, also working in the motor trade I do get to drive a wide range of cars, chipped and otherwise.

Lets all argee to disagree.

Please refer to DaveU's post number 113, as I think it sums up the situation.

Kenny hasn't got a remap, he wants to know for comparison and he just can't make his mind up. Prehaps you could PM him if you don't want to make it public.

thats the thing im not in any remap camp, my car is standard. ive been a member of this site for over 2 years i think. those on here will know i dont start arguments etc.

i was asking you a genuine question so you could compare your current on to other ones you have had.

i will be looking to remap my car next year and im looking for peoples reviews etc.

so pls dont take it as my trying to wind anyone up, im asking out of interest so i can pic the best one that will suit me :)

In view of the "Mine is better than yours" between generic and custom code re-maps' date=' and comments about various tuning companies.

At the rolling road today in Southampton my Octy vRS did 228.3BHP and 233.9lbft with the "GENERIC" serial port "1 BAR" map from Impossible Performance.

Was told by the chap doing the testing, that it should be increased to 1.2 Bar, which should increase figures to 240+BHP and 245+lbft torque.

Not bad figures for a non custom code re-map...............[/quote']

Wait a minute.............

I've just realised, isn't this the same RR that a STANDARD Octavia vRS made 197bhp and a STANDARD Fabia vRS made 159bhp? :rubchin:

The topic of the thread is "Upsolute or Revo" you've said yourself that IP don't use Upsolute so are you gonna go back onto the topic of the thread or keep talking about IP?

I'd be glad to see you continuing posting about IP as it's quite interesting' date=' just find it strange that you've contradicted yourself like that.

BTW do you still very much doubt that the post earlier in this thread was actually from Guy or are you still waiting for him to confirm the secret magic word?[/quote']

If you look carefully you will see that the guy is under the impression the IP still do Upsolute, just providing him with the correct info. He also lives in Kent and is wondering weather to go to IP (for his Upsolute Chip) or a local Revo dealer. Stop me if I am going to fast for you. :P

BTW I now know why Guy has posted in the manner he has because he just doesn't make post's like that one and yes I do believe it's him, just a shame he had to make it.

For the record IP are not Custom Code Agents nor have thay got CC, so Guy is correct with his statement.

I for one am very glad of this small fact.

He's trying to rubbish another tuner now. :thumbdwn:

Yes, and DaveU's made 351bhp without hitting top boost, and your point is?????????

Or you saying that Regals rollers are not up to standard and giving false figures, if so, then perhaps you would be better putting this inference to them.

Re the standard Octy vRS giving 197BHP, the owner of this vehicle did say that it was bought recently second hand, so how do we know that the previous owner did not have it chipped.

come on guys, we are just about keeping it in line and to the facts ;)

this info will be usefull to others :)

No, no, you're quite right Kenny.

My apologies Eddy, you are as ever entitled to your opinions. :o

Yes, and the fact is that Eddy made an inference that the Regal rollers are giving a questionable figure, and all I did was ask him to put this to Regal and not put it on here, as it is unsubstantiated.

Kenny, I have PM'd you.

So if they don't use Upsolute anymore and aren't CC agents, what do they use? I'm new to this but finding this post very interesting.

Perhaps a call to Mike at Impossible Performance on 01634-710777 would be a better place to ask.

Not being evasive in any way, it is better to hear it from him direct rather the via the grape vine. That way nobody can be accused of wrong information.

 Sorry for laughing but if you knew Mike you would understand, he just isn't hard sell....he just cannot be bothered to name this product, it just won't be any better if he named it as far as he is concerned.

Doc, all I can say is go and try it. If don't like it i'm sure he will take it off (over my dead body, I can hear you saying).

Fair enough. I'm still speculating at the moment as still have to pay off the actual car before I can afford any remaps, but this all sounds interesting.

Sorry need to clarify my point, I'm not saying the RR is inaccurate as is always the advice with RR's they're not comparable between each other on final figures you need to compare to other cars run on the same RR and differences between stock and tuned cars. I'm making a comparison between cars run on the same RR on the same day and therefore getting an idea of power increase that your map has given. As a comparison standard 180's make between 179-181bhp on the JBS RR which is the one that mine and GaryM's among others has run on. Here's a link to a Briskoda RR day which was held there: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=25772

If you want to talk about cars of DaveU's spec then the JBS Octavia equipped with a GT28RS made 440bhp. At the RR day above it was only getting 420bhp as it wasn't hitting top boost.

... and Standard Fabia vRS's make 130bhp on the JBS Rollers.

Also another thing to bear in mind is which figures you are basing your cars performance on.

Torque and RPM is read which converts to wheelpower.

Flywheelpower which most people quote is just a calculation based on wheelpower + coastdown (losses) which is why most rolling roads seem inaccurate.

Gerry / Des , whats your wheelpower from you last plots?

I get around 205-207 WHP with the very expensive but excellent Custom Code map.

This is going nowhere now guys as the thread starter has made his choice.
