Upsolute or Revotechnik

Featured Replies

I'm finally biting the bullet and remapping my 02 Octy VRS.

Jabba are to far for me to travel to be honest, and I have Upsolute and Revotechnik dealers within striking distance.

I was wondering what recent experiences people have had with both. I've spoken to Leon owning friends who rave about both. I am also tempted by Revos free 5 hour play, I know there were problems a couple of years back, but again would appreciate feedback.

180bhp will soon be a thing of the past!!!!!

Hmm - I know I've got the Furby but I'd probably prefer Revo myself :)

As far as the remaps are concerned, they are both as good as each other.

The Revo has the option of being switched via the OBD II port if you buy the switch box as well.

Upsolute do offer a changeable chip as well. Give Simon Coe a give ring for more details.

Ever considered Custom Code? www.custom-code.co.uk

Give Michael at Impossible Performance in Rochester a ring on 01634-710777.

He just might have something else to offer you that some of us use.

Where abouts in the South East are you?????

Of those to options I would go Revo, the upsolute remap is hmm very interesting and lasted about 10 mins in a fellow briskodians octy vRS. Basically the power comes in quickly as you would expect but then dies just as quick so it was described as in the seat one minute and head against the screen the next.

As mentioned I would seriously consider the Custom Code offering, I have only heard positive things about it.

There is another map on offer at Impossible Performance in addition to the Upsolute one.

It's no good Gerry.......your just going to have to blast past them. :D

Des, you , Andyccr and I all know what the map in question is like, but, it is not for me to try to convert people, it is all about personal choice.

Just glad I listened to certain people.

Ya but who would want a remap that is quicker, cheeper and pulls to the limiter anyway.

Hmmmm, food for thought here!!!!!!

Thanks Gerry for contacting me, I've PM'd back.

Not a lot of response for Revo as yet. Its clear that its a straight choice between Impossibe Performance, Rochester or Speed- Shop (aka Ashford Motorsports), Dover.

More opinions welcome!!!!!!

Ive got Revo 4bar and am well happy with it, not the cheapest but was very local.

Upsolute or REVO

Neither

:)

I've heard mixed reports on Impossible Performance' date=' they seem popular on here but have taken major criticism over on uk-mkivs in the past.

My personal recommendation would be Custom-Code, authorised dealers can be found here: [url']http://www.custom-code.co.uk/component/option,com_contact/catid,18/Itemid,40/[/url]

In contrast i've heard very bad reports of CC/JBS (which I will not discuss on here so don't bother asking), recent ones at that. I think you'll find bad reports about every tuner if you look hard enough. There is always someone out there who has an ulterior motive to praise or put down a company.

Having just parted with a large wedge of my hard earneds at JBS, i have to say I can highly recommend not only the product, but the service and knowledge of the guys and gals up there. It has totally transformed the car and i didnt feel like i was being sold anything i didnt want or need and the advice was sound, based on fact rather than opinion or prejudice......

But then, like it's been said, totally down to personal opinion and experience, i havent driven another octy with a different re-map, so only know mine is awesome, but if i had the option of a few to try locally, before i made a choice, perhaps that would be a sensible idea?

Only IMHO,Goose

Have you looked at Unichip ( Dastek website). You can upgrade the chip settings as your list of modifications grow, and all for just RR time rather than a full remap each time.

Quite a lot of 1.8t guys up here use them, with good reviews on different forums.

star performance in scotland will do a remapp by post, they send out a wee box that you plug into the obd, flick the switch download the code, post it back. They then write you a code and post it back, you then replug it in and reflick the switch and away you go.They seem to have a very good reputation.

People, people, people....didn't any of you read what was originally posted.

He wants to know about Upsolute or REVO as there are near him.

Yes...I believe there are better maps.....but in the context of the original question....REVO has a better rep.

As for different tuners...the question wasn't asked...so behave.

I have no experience of Upsolute but would agree that Revo is a good product.

I posted the link to the CC dealer page as I believe there is a dealer near to the OP's location and is another option for them to consider.

but surley by post is even nearer!!!.....no travelling at all:)

Custom-Code haven't had any complaints made to them. If you have any information could you pass it onto them so they can look into it.

Upsolute or Revo... hmmm...

Toughie...

Upsolute is cheaper than Revo, but from the RR's I've seen of the local guys, Revo has the slightly higher power figures... could depend on SPS settings or fuel tho...

Get a coin, call heads for upsolute, tails for revo, and call best of 3, then 5, then 7... ... ...

So why can't the OP be given extra information based on opinion which he may find very valuable?

Surely if alternatives are available then its fair he is made aware of them?

Answering his question though, Revo will give more power and torque than Upsolute. It may be more expensive but you get what you pay for.

Custom Code will give a bigger smile than both though.
