When picking up your brand new ordered car at the dealer, what mileage did it have? Presuming the car was transported by truck.

From memory mine had six miles after garage had test run. Certainly less than ten.

I've been lucky enough to have a brand new car every three years for the past 15 years (company cars) and as far as I can remember they have all had somewhere between 5 and 10 miles on the clock. My 2013 Superb FL had 7 miles on it when I picked it up last year.

Mine had about 5 miles on if I remember correct... Also, if I remember correctly the dealer can reset the mileage to zero on modern cars if needed, but only if the car has done less than a certain mileage, i.e 50 miles... 

 

If you think about it, the factory will test drive, it is moved around the shipping yards, then at the dealers..  

Mine had 5 miles when delivered to the dealer and after the PDI the clock showed 15 miles.

Same here about 5 ish certainly it was nothing that gave me cause for concern

My Octavia had 8m on it. I think under 10 is ok, anything more looks like a joy ride ;-)

When i got my vRS back in 2006 it had something like 8 miles on the clock i think. The wife got a brand new MG ZS back in 2002 and that had about 4 miles from memory.

Any new Skoda I've taken delivery of had around 10 to 15km. I'd be concerned if there was nothing as no pre checks would have been done

Picked up a brand new Lancer with a friend. 2.4 km on the clock

Mine had 9 km on the clock.

When I was working in rent-a-car, upto 20 miles would be accepted; it'd be rejected if > that.

Mine had just under 100 but had been delivered by the supplier direct to me (driven)

26, but it was pre-registered and had been at the dealer for around 2 months - poss done a test drive, but that would be about it.

I have read that with some makes of car the odometer of a new car can be reset once by the dealer provided the mileage is below a certain figure eg less than 100 miles. Can this be done by VAG dealers? (I am not referring to the procedure where the mileage on a new cluster is adjusted to read the same as the old cluster it replaces.)

Yes, this can be done. I think it can even be done with VCDS. But only up to a certain mileage.
