I've never tested this, but my understanding is that this european "right to be forgotten" law only applies to European flavours of Google etc.  In other words, if you do your search from www.google.com instead of www.google.co.uk you should find the hidden results without difficulty.

Actually, I'd be interested to know if this works.

That is correct for now, you can search from any non EU version of google ad get the full search results. However google are now being investigated and could be asked to remove the data from all versions.

http://www.google.com/ncr

Will give you the full .com version from wherever you are.

Another fun piece of EU legislation now states that you don't have to stick around or turn yourself in if you happen to damage someones property on a parking lot. A case like this went to court here in Finland a while ago and he supreme court made a ruling that based on EU law it isn't legal to punish the guilty party for fleeing, even though Finnish law would mandate it... Fun huh?

The ruling (originally in Finnish) via Google translate.

Luckily this pretty much means nothing in the UK as our legal system has not been tested for this 'quirk' of Brussels, so the road traffic act still applies and that it's an offence to fail to exchange details or report the incident.

Sadly very few honest people left that will fess up. Luckily car cams are getting so cheap now it might make people think twice. Can't wait to install mine.

Didn't catch it on the dash cam?

Friday evening I was waiting for a woman to get in her car (her drivers door was facing mine) so I could get in mine. She swung her door open and it crashed against mine - She literally swung it open and let go. She then said 'oops' and got into her car and drove off whilst I was standing there watching metres from her. No damage thankfully but it was times like that I wish I drove a ****heap so I could just swing my car door full force into hers.

I'd have kicked her bloody wing mirror off if she had just said 'oops' to smacking my car

This is why I've sometimes entertained the idea of getting a military spec Humvee...just so I didn't have to care one bit... Unfortunately they are hideous.  :D

I'm afraid it's only a matter of time until you get a similar ruling. I was livid when reading about it the first time.

I was parked at a cancer treatment centre where the bays are tight but when my patient returned to the car she knocked on the window so I could move out the space and then get in simples!

Well one day whilst waiting for her to return an old couple returned to the car next to me,the old lady then proceeded to slide her fat arse up the side of my car to get to passenger door of their car,I was fuming !

But she then decided to throw open her door with no thought or control and belted my drivers door before attempting to get in and banging the door a couple of extra times just to really hack me off!!!

Well due to the cramped condition I wound my window down and started to give her a whole lot of grief to which I was told that I was parked too close to their car so tough!!

Turned out that they where parked on the white line between bays !

They reversed out tapped the car behind setting of its alarm and drove off!!!!

By this time I was raging with steam coming out my ears I jumped out checked my car for damage which fortunately was none and shouted more grief at the toss3rs as they drove on there merry way

Only after calming down did I realise like myself that 1 of the couple must also have been going through cancer care to have been parked there which made me feel bad but a lot to be said about respect and elderly being a two way thing!

Gutted for you and your damaged car!

Should be easily fixable though, no damage to the paint. Just crap timing as it'll have to wait til after new year now to be fixed.

I share your pain, today some w@%#er decided to throw their door open straight into the side of my car, before driving off and leaving it for me to discover!

What makes it worse is, I tried 3 different spaces before deciding on one that I thought was safe!

Merry fecking christmas!

Hope you get it fixed soon.

I have given up trying to park away from other cars, I can park my Octavia in a row of empty spaces and come back with cars parked either side.  I have come to the decision the car is so good looking it's a car magnet.

I can highly recommend Paul, he takes proper pride in his work and kept working at it to get it perfect even after i could no longer see any sign of the dent.

There were some very very slight scratches which I polished out a couple of weeks ago.

Many many years ago I finished an exercise on salisbury plain and was driving back up to Catterick.  About 6 in the land rover, we stopped at some motorway services on the M1 and went in for food and drink.  When we came back out I lifted the bonnet to check the coolant level as the temperature gauge was getting pretty high if I did 70-75 (but ok at slower speeds) and I wanted to make sure it had plenty of coolant.  Just finished checking it and my boss started to shout at me in a panicky voice 'get in, get in, drive, drive'  so no questions asked I locked the bonnet down and drove off.

About 5 miles down the motorway he was holding his head in his hands and was clearly upset about something.  He then confessed that he was holding the passenger side door open as the others jumped into the rear.  As they piled in the door dug into the white merc parked next to us and just went deeper and deeper into the door.  He was gutted and said he would never normally drive away and wanted to leave a note but the army green paint that was smeared either side of the hole would tell the driver it was a military vehicle so claiming would be easy.

That wouldn't have been nice to come back to.

Thanks, to the b@£$!&d who...

...threw something through my rear windscreen, shattering it. (When I heard the bang -- I was driving the car at the time -- I thought a tyre had blown explosively.) Whoever did it was nowhere to be seen.

At the moment, it looks like the replacement rear windscreen may have to come from the Czech Republic. :(
