Have they changed the car?

Fred,

I don't expect top spec for base money, but am bemoaning the fact that an option that was available on the 5 Dr S Citigo has now disappeared and the only way to get the items in the Comfort pack on a 5dr is to buy an SE which is more expensive than an S with the Comfort pack and has other features I don't want. If I am are paying cash for a vehicle I don't like paying more than I need to, particularly for a badge and features I don't need.

  • Great news at last [emoji106][emoji4] Trivial but useful I know.

  • So it has........................... latest brochure online.     Presentation1.pdf

We received our 2015 elegance this week, and yes, 2 window switches on driver's door.

New to me feature was that now I have to push down gear stick to engage reverse gear. Somehow gear shifting feels better too. Sturdier somehow.

It also feels like there is rear suspension too in 2015 model. 2013 model feels like the suspension was left in the factory, compared this newer model. Looks like ride height is the same on both though.

Anyway I'm very pleased about this new Citigo. And we still have the 2013 model too. What is better than a Citigo? Two Citigos. :sun:

I've decided to go with the offer on a Mii Sport from my dealer and have confirmed it is a new build that was already in transit rather than a sourced stock car. Build date was February 11th so will have all the new features/updates.

Hopefully I should pick it up in a week or so.

Happy days, wonder if my monte Carlo will come with double switches. I'm going to miss some things from my A4 like the lighting pack, but then that car was £25k new so can't really do comparisons lol

If you can get the VIN number you could check that online with one of the VIN decoder sites. I think the twin electric window switches were from week 45> which was first week of November last year?

Mine hasn't even been built yet so hopefully that means it will come with them, will be a bonus as it's stupid having them separate. The monte in the showroom didn't have them

If it isn't built yet then it is bound to have them Mike. I can't see the factory switching between 1/2 switch versions on the assembly line!

I think between Skoda/VW/Seat they have a lot of stock/showroom/pre reg cars built before the changes on 64 and probably even 15 plate cars.

I have also noticed spec anomalies/changes with Seat, though. The early Toca models like mine have electric mirrors and rear sensors but later cars not. The Mango also seems to have had electric mirrors removed in later versions too.

I'd love electric mirrors but there was no option on the monte :-(

Doesn't the elegance have electric mirrors? I wonder if non electric mirrored cars will have twin switches?

I'm the only one that drives the Citigo so really not an issue for me. Heated mirrors, though, would be useful.

Yes,elegance have electric and heated mirrors. Our Ambiente Citigo have them too. Then again standard equipments here in Finland seems to be different than yours in UK. Heated seats are standard for example. Looks like Citigos with manual gear box are all Green Techs in here. From beginning of this year comfort- and technic packages are standard.

We don't have any Monte Carlo models. We didn't have Sport. But we have dynamic.

I'll bet your dynamic is very very similar to our sport. (although I seem to think we only have the 4 models at the moment, s, se, monte carlo and elegance), obviously Skoda try to sell towards the market, in Finland electric seats will make a lot more sense than in the UK, my car has them now, and apart from a few days a year for a few minutes until the heating kicks in I think they are pretty pointless.

Interesting - I didn't know they "downgraded" the spec. Those early Mii Tocas were £9k when they first came out - very good value for money especially considering what nine grand's worth of VW Up! would get you.

Skoda UK's website now shows the standard Citigo S model with no glove box but an open tray under the dash.Must have been designed by some spotty idiot who thought it would be cheaper to produce but actually costs more.Reminds me of my first secondhand car a 1950's Ford 100E Anglia. On the plus side it now shows a rev counter and fuel gauge on the instrument cluster which would be a good addition.

Actually I take that back slightly....An advert on Autotrader has a listing for a Toca but shows an iTech which does lose the rear sensors and electric/heated mirrors.

Later Tocas do lose rear sensors and have a different design of alloy wheels and darker trim.

Picked up my Mii Sport earlier and thought I'd post a picture of the two electric window switches and confirm the gearbox now requires a push down to select.

Will post some pictures in the picture thread if it is OK when my detailer brother has worked some magic on the car. Dealer prep was pretty poor this time.

nice, although I have a feeling non electric mirror models will still have a single switch

The car configurator for a non electric mirror version shows twin switches.

Great would love to see more piccies [emoji16]

Will get some pics up when my brother gives it a proper wash. The marks left by the dealer valeters is particularly bad. I think they've used one of those silicone blades. My brother will cry when he sees it.

Oh those things yes [emoji19]

Dealers have no idea at all.

I've had a couple of newer (2014) courtesy cars whilst mine is in for ongoing gearbox/clutch investigations, and I would 100% agree with your observations. Gearbox much tighter and precise along with finally being quieter, no rattle in 5th gear, quieter clutch (no nasty noise heard externally), and a much improved suspension. If I don't have much success with my car under warranty I'd consider upgrading to a newer model at the end of this year, along with DAB becoming standard and the dual electric window switches, they've tweaked an already good car and hopefully improved quality control.

Oh, and another train driver (and ex-bus driver) here doing funny hours! :coffee:

I agree. To me this 2015 model shows that good can get better many ways. It's nice to see that they make improvements for these affordable cars too.

Also steering feels a bit different. Like it assist more at lower speeds.

We picked up our Citigo SE this weekend. It has manual mirrors with two electric window switches on the drivers side.

Westover said it was the first model they had seen with the new twin drivers side window switches that first appeared on the UP!
