John999boy, good to read that you have lost non of you sharp sarcasm, wit and strong sense of humour.

However, the insert of the Sunday Times article was merely a guide for those who may find it interesting and would then like to follow up That's all.

However, thank you for inputting the complete article.

LOL.

Unfortunately, and as you yourself found out, no matter how much you link to something, if you can't get past the paywall then it largely makes the link irrelevant.

  • You'd have to be a bit daft to think there won't be. Ford has (unlike other car makers) realised that loads of people remap and found a way to influence what people do to their cars. At least by off

  • This is my one, love the little beast.

  • Makes you wonder why so few makers do have an approved remap available. You'd think it would be better for VAG to be involved in a safe remap for it's products that just leave the door open to a mult

Shame VW were there 2 years ago but didn't have the balls or finance to follow through in the end.

The one that got away

Volkswagen Golf R400 (394bhp)

A victim of Volkswagen’s dieselgate scandal, the Golf R400 project was axed in an increased effort to help dramatically cut costs at the German brand.

MK8 may be too late.

If Skoda can just get the new 1.5 TSI with maybe 150ps for the 3rd Generation Fabia Face Lift then they might be getting someplace with a size of car people want

with a bit of performance.

'Simply Clever'.

Off Topic since it is not a Mega Hot Hatch (yet) just a Mega Big heavy Hatch.  But then it is not 2015 either.

So a surprising 0-62 with the 1.4TSI given its weight, then a painfully slow 50-70 mph which ever engine that was.

Just imagine if the UK Government bring in a scheme that all Vehicles require a Black Box that records Vehicle Speeds in the UK

and that any vehicle not limited to a max of 80 mph or a 0-70 mph of 8 seconds or more are charged 4 times the VED.

(Any overseas vehicles without and caught breaking the speed limits in the UK are seized and held for 1 week and any penalty charges and storage fees need paid before the vehicle is released.)

Seems simple enough legislation and technology to bring in if the Government is serious about Road Safety & Emissions.
