Issues with Fabia Remotes

Featured Replies

Hi hopefully some of you may be able to help me. I bought a 2000 Skoda Fabia Comfort at the weekend but after I had brought it home I realised that the remotes to lock the car were not working. I tried locking the car with the key but it is just spinning in the lock freely. I have also tried replacing the batteries in both remotes but had no luck with that either. Is there any way of programming both remotes that does not involve locking the car with a key?

If you have two keys, remove the lock from the door, stick one in ignition, follow remote coding procedure as in here but using a screwdriver to turn where the lock would turn in the door (should be what looks like a large screw that the tang on the lock should turn)

Managed to get the car locking had to disconnect the alarm for the moment as it kept going off. Looking into getting that sorted now. Thanks for your help. :)

Check the microswitch on the bonnet latch, is common for it to fail and make the alarm go off :)
