Optional wire to send +12 V to the camera, from the headunit for example.

I didn’t use it because mine is powered from the left reversing light.

I wanted folding mirrors so I could see from a distance if I locked the car or not.

Well, black mirrors look pretty much the same, folded or not so I put a bright red sticker which can be seen only when mirrors are folded.

Измерих 12.01 V с "89" и 12.98 V с "100". ~ 13 V е малко прекалено много за халогени, те ще изгорят по-рано.

3) ignition on

4) reverse gear

5) now the only light is the reverse light

6) use a multimeter to check wich wires get 12V

I am planning how to install a rear camera on an Octavia Mk3 based on the information you and others posted in this forum.  I will have to use the reverse light power cable as a power source.

 

You wrote that you used the reversing light for power.  Where did you put "Ground"?

 

Also, when I looked on the left back corner of the boot lining, I noticed the boot light is there. Is it easy to just unclip and remove?

hey.. sorry for bumping up the topic but I am obviously missing something here...
when I removed my MIB1 and amundsen there seems to be no place to plug in fakra cable from the camera, or do I need some kind od adapter / camera module to plug it in my mib 1

But I'm not pretty sure if MIB1 Amundsen, which is your unit, supports RVC at all

it should as I have read..

First of all, not 9/10 and 13/14 but 9/13 and 10/14.

 

9/13 is for subwoofer and 10/14 for central speaker. But pls note this is not available in Technisat Skoda units.

Those wheels are lush, are they flipped for the other side or the same stamped wheel pattern?

all wheels have the same stamped wheel pattern.

I have an Octavia 3 from 2013 and I seem to have an Amundsen MIB1 in version 0421 and I would like to install a reversing camera.

I have read all the pages on this subject and the information is a bit mixed in my mind, plus all the video or photo links are dead so not easy to understand.

 

If I understood correctly I need to enlarge the hole in the trunk handle if I want a similar mounting to the original, or a camera to mount on the license plate lighting or between the handle and the lighting by drilling.

I have to be careful to take an ntsc camera and the often optimistic viewing angle on aliexpress.

 

Should I pass the cable to the left or right?  On the left there is the cable guide for the trunk, on the right you arrive directly at the glove box but you have to buy a cable guide for the trunk (ref: 1Z9 971 829)?

 

Should I power the camera and the signal on a reversing light, the windshield wiper or a +12v from the fuse box?  I saw on aliexpress that a 12v filter is provided in certain kits (example: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EwP7got) or via VCDS it is necessary to modify to have a pure 12v on the reversing light when the  engine is started

 

I would like to be able to watch via the camera while driving forward (control the trailer for example), is this possible by pressing the button to activate the parking sensors?  If so I imagine that you have to power the camera other than through the reversing light

With my firmware 0421 (which is lower than 0435), when I go to reverse I will have the camera screen with above on the left the symbol of the car with parking sensors on a black background (non-transparent) which gives me  will hide the view and I will have to manually hide it every time?  If you have a valid photo because I have a hard time imagining what it looks like (the photos in post 33 of Trust2K no longer work)

Is an update really risky?  0490 is the last one?  No matter how much I search, I really can't find it.

 

I have the steering wheel angle sensor since when I reverse I have the steering angle on the Park assist screen, so I can mount a turning line camera "highline" from AliExpress or that complicates it a little more ?

I bought and received a camera connected to the CAN bus, powered via the connector behind the car radio, with guideline

 No need to activate the camera via VCDs it does it alone, however I get a black screen, no image

 

 I don't know if I can do anything knowing that the game is checked via VCDs, in 5f, byte 19, bit 4 is activated

 I can't reverse the video wires because the new little blue connector is not openable like the original one

 In the description of what I ordered it is indicated that it only works on Octavia from 2015 (be careful in China the Octavia 3 5E is called the Octavia 3 A7 and arrived later), the mine is from 2013 with amundsen mib1
