 I thought you'd posted this from the middle of the M1 when when I checked out your 'see where I am' link, but then I saw it was 9 days ago!!

I've been looking at myTyres.co.uk, who seem to have good prices - I'm going to check what it would be to have them fitted locally.

Hi Dean,

Makes a set of alloys look cheap, doesn't it!!

Not sure how far south you venture, but Hendon Tyre Service in Colindale, London, NW9 are pretty competitive and then of course there is Micheldever Tyres, just of A33 south of Basingstoke.

yeh but i got the alloys its just the rubber bit round the outside that i need, I say rubber but most people on this site have steel on the outside with a bit of rubber round the edges....mentioning no names

Hey Dean,

I like the APRS position report, but 9 days ago! - surely youve moved since then? - or is your APRS on fixed station

Hi Dean,

Micheldever are one of the cheapest around...off there on Saturday myself.

If you're going get there early....normally around 8 cars before it even opens at 8:30am....by the time I leave the queue it around 20+ cars.

Cheers.

Re the P6000's

BT tyres in Tavistock St, Bletchley (M Keynes) are doing them for

Sorry guys but I do not see the point in travelling round trying to find the cheapest price when you will spend the saving in fuel and time. I would go local, at least that way if there is a problem you can easily return and also feel good with giving your money to a local buisiness (even multi nationals have to pay tax etc) which all helps the local economy.

G7PKF is only a few miles from Bletchley, which is why I suggested it. I find that locally they are always about the most competitive, and National (as with others) will price match if you get an honest quote or want some Tesco Clubcard points !

Rob

I use a local family-run tyre depot which has always given me and my family good service. But I would always check prices elsewhere first on the offchance that I can negotiate a better price if necessary.

Fair enough.....it just seemed like a mega search n travel to save a few quid on the face price.

Apologies all round.

Thanks for the advise to go to bletcley,,,

But Just Tyres in luton did a price match+ i therefore got one for

Result !

Has enyone used tyresonline.net?

every time i come to change my tyres, i spend an age on the 'net looking for cheap internet deals.

what invariably happens is that i can't be bothered and end up getting them done at the local kwik-fit.

more fool me, methinks.

Know what you mean Huck, but in this case tyresonline.net will supply avon ZZ3's in 205/50/R17 for

The Michelins will always be far more than the Avons anyway. The Avons work out at

The

Blackcircles.com are worth a look.

They have 4 Pirelli P6000 in 225/45 R17 for

225/45ZR17 is what I need but

And people wonder why I stick with small skinny wheels... :D

Rob.

Maybe I should switch my front with my rear tyres and stretch them out a bit longer? Trouble is replacing 4 is a major sting on the wallet.
