230 Bhp Vrs

Hi, how is your new 230?

I've had a really good PCP offer for a red hatch from a dealer oop north & I'm seriously tempted...........

I suspect that the fuel consumption will be worse than my Superb, (34 mpg overall) but hopefully not too much more than the old girl!

Have just about done 1000 miles now, loving it. Did a run up to Birmingham and back this week, came back with the cruise on at the speed limit + 10% in normal mode and average 38mpg. Can't really complain about that! What has been really impressive though (having had diesels for the last 6 years) is how quick it is - Coming off a roundabout in 2nd, the front end hooks up nicely (eDiff?) Squeeze the power on as you exit and it starts to take off - foot flat on the floor and it bloody flies. I think my overall average so far is about 32 - and that includes a fair bit of commuting in heavy traffic in town, and general dicking around where conditions/traffic permit. I would expect that average to go up as the engine wears in.

Only downside I have found is that the tyres are pretty noisy (compared to the Jag Sportbrake I previously had)

Wonder if the configurator has a sister, could be popular going down as often as it does.

  • Well here she is !  Over the moon with it.   Missing roof rails though and have been told that they should have been there and to await a bulletin from skoda about them ( mind you i like it without

Thank you, kind Sir, very encouraging.

The noise isn't just the tyres. the estate can boom a little,,,,,,,

There's a long but interesting thread on here about excess noise in the Octavia 3 forum, that might be of help.

What brand of tyre have you have on your 230, I was lumbered with Conti sport Contact 2's on my Superb, & the replacement Goodyear EfficientGrips are

much quieter, so a change might be in order when you wear them out!

  • 1 month later...

Anyone with a 230 tell the difference between the headlights over a 220/184 vRS, as they are meant to come with "black backfill"??? I can't seem to see a difference when compare.

  • 2 months later...

just ordered a 230 in time before the order books close tomorrow :) I have one question though for 230 owners, are the xtreme wheels gloss black or anthracite? looking at images on line it appears there's 2 types but it could just be my eyes!

Mark.

Gloss black. Only on the 230.

Ordered my 230 in black on the 25 April 2016 and the build week was Monday passed  22nd August who would of thought you need to wait for 5 month for a skoda canny wait. can anybody tell me form date of build how long did it take for you to get your 230?

10 weeks from order to delivery. 2,5 week from build to delivery

It's a bit Vauxhall Vectra.

Skoda has had trouble with parts for the 230. And they close down for vacation. But 5 months is wild

You're not old enough. Vectra had that phase of sticking 140 or 160 or similar in exactly the same spot. I think the MK3 Cavaliers had some too.

I drew a similarity to a car decal used a few yeas ago and you call me a vaginal cleansing product. Are you twelve?

Anger issues? Much? Wrong end of stick? Much?

Feel stupid now? Much?

There's a lot of this thing about during half-term.

It tends to go away when the children have gone back to school.

No I'm 43.

Maybe you should have quoted the post you were referring to rather than just making a random comment.

I do concede however that the Vectra comparison is valid though - I remember the '150' decals in a weird typeface totally at odds with the car and the 230 decals do have a similar oddness.

Just one thing - what is this 'much' nonsense? Is this a new internet/social media phrase or a demographic thing?

Backpedal. Much?

Anyway, just wind it in a bit.

Hopefully we can all stay on topic now after that little 'episode'!
