All those failed motors were already failing and mapping simply accelerated their demise.

  • Back to this topic. I had the car on rolling road today and I must say that the results were very impressive. So impressive I nearly want to call BS on it myself.  This rolling road had very good fee

  • Mine is Revo stage 1 and yes I have had miss fire issues once and was cured with new plugs/coil packs but car runs well it was 211 at last week's RR session and I get reasonable mpg so can't complain.

  • Enjoy your new car. There are only around 3,000 Mk2 vRS in the UK, and hopefully all are now sorted due to the fantastic Customer Service from Skoda UK.   vxh26 does not have a Twincharger as far a

Could be, I don't own one but people that are on Scirocco forums report that several have failed with REVO maps on. Maybe that doesn't affect latest engines or even Fabias at all, don't know, just what I read. Also, in every video of REVO vs. other tuner (same stage), REVO lose by a margin that looks to be more a stage 1 vs stage 2 difference. So, not only they brake more often but they're not even the quickest when they work, defo sounds strange. Unless it's all just a great coincidence.

Actually yes, I just found this from a 1.4 TSI, not Fabia though:

Shows the connectors upside down, the release clips are on the upper side which makes the removing process a bit easier. However I am not convinced the cover can go back on as before without any modding.

i really like that red rubber hose from the dump valve any ideas at what size it could be peeps :) them coils look the dog's swingers aswell

It looks like Forge, so better stay away.

sure that hose looks good but the forge valve isnt the best . rather go with gfb . still waiting newbie`s report before i order it .

when cold my forge valve sounds like a damn duck whistle.

Hey sorry I didn't understand you were waiting for a review. Installed it and all is good. No fluttering, no additional noise at all, and no leaks from the little test-driving that I've done so far. But it's been confirmed by many others already that it works as it should. There is an improvement during gear changes. If I can attribute this to GFB: When I was shifting from 4th to 5th at 140km/h, there was an instant minor power drop as if you were lifting your foot off the throttle for a split second and then the car kept on, now the pull is constant throughout the gears. I say if, because I upgraded the lower engine mount at the same day and don't know if that is responsible for part of this particular improvement. All feels good though, that I can tell you.

oh pants i have the forge valve is it really that bad ????

Sorry for taking it off topic again (last time from me) but after a few emails with a guy selling those R8 red top coil packs, would anyone be interested in a group buy? I think I'm going to give them ago and will report back if anyone's interested. :)

In my eyes, if it keeps this engine healthy for longer then it's money well spent!

What's the price?

Id definitely be interested if the price was right, I assume these will work fine on an unmapped engine? Wanted to gradually build up the supporting mods before I jump to stage 2.

I'd assume they would be too. I'm going to get some, check they fit fine and everything, and then if so, try and get the group buy organised in new thread in the relevant category. To start it off, the guy wanted 4 people and more for the group buy, and I think the price for 4 would be about £78 with postage, although that figure isn't set in stone yet.

In comparison, the NGK ones were about £95 with delivery on that 'bestpartstore' website.

good attitude.... your car is already looking good :) do you have a build thread yet ?!

Double check that they will fit without any mods/clashes and you can count me in, but I doubt it.

^ Forever an optimist ;):D.

Yes, it would be good for somebody to check all is cosher. I can spend some time researching data sheets and parts numbers just to make sure we are buying the correct thing.

It's no pessimism really Jabo, just that somebody asked already about their compatibility on a fb group and the answer was that they are not a simple plug'n'play replacement. Many people mention the R8 coilpacks every now and then when the topic is about coils but I haven't yet seen a photo confirming it's a trouble-free replacement. I'd think it's wise to know this for a fact before we proceed, after all I'll be buying them as well if they go in like the stock ones.

Agreed, hence "smileys".

I am no virgin here and it happened to me that middle of a job I realised I had a wrong part and was up the creek without a paddle :)

Unless they are massively different I do not mind twisting connectors and such like. I've read lots about R8 coil packs and there was never a mention of any additional works needed bar straight replacement :)

I shall let you all know as soon as possible! The guy is happy for me to return them and will pay the return postage if they don't fit as well.

Sounds good, keep us posted.

I haven't got one yet but I've got every pic I've taken of the car since I've had it so definitely have the content to start one when I get the time.

Looking forward to seeing how it goes with these, providing they fit without any bodging I will definitely have a set.

Hi having owned my Vrs for just a month now, its done 32k miles and I am going to be putting 1100 miles a month on it commuting, what are the recommended replacement plugs? Thanks

I think the general consensus for a standard car and tuned cars the best alternative to the factory plugs is NGK BKR7EIX, stock code 2667.

. . . what are the recommended replacement plugs?

This is going to be good . . . goes to fetch popcorn . . .

aaah, like that is it vxh26? lol

'fraid so, next you might ask about favourite wheels and if you REALLY want a hoot, you could ask about oil consumption . . . only a few thousand vRS cars were sold in the UK but so very much controversy has ensued as a result ;)
