Moto GP 2015

Featured Replies

Yes the Moto 3 was the highlight and it just shows how many points you can lose in a couple of races.  Through no fault of his own Danny Kent has lost a good bit of his healthy lead but I don't think he will be panicking just yet.  I did wonder if he had all the Ducati stuff on his mind and if it affected his race.

Rossi is going to have to raise his game to keep Lorenzo at bay.  He qualified well but he let the Ducati riders slow him up which let the two at the front get away and then there was too much to do.

Crutchlow was his usual unimpressive self once more and to be honest I would be surprised if he kept his ride for next year.

Sam Lowes did what he could and I think he needs to be out of there either to a better team or to Moto GP.  Whether he will sign for Aprillia or not we probably won't find out until Silverstone.

I think with the ECU changes and tyre changes next year there will not be a better time to jump onto a Moto GP bike so Kent and Lowes should grab the opportunity with both hands.

Looking forward to Silverstone but it needs to be a bit closer racing to keep the interest level up.

Yup, it's even more annoying that really, it's **** all to do with Marquez, he should be riding his own race and letting everyone else crack on with theirs

  • Is it just me, or does anyone else chuckle every time Marc falls off trying to stick with Vale?

  • WOW!!! Absolutely amazing race, and a battle we've all waited to see for so long.   What a brilliant race and a fitting tribute to #39    Lovely to see Valentino and Marc shake hands at last.   I

New deals for Brits.

It's taken ages, and I gather he was a bit miffed by his team-mate getting re-signed first, but Tech 3 have resigned Bradley for 2016 (who is after all, the leading non-works rider in MotoGP this year).

More of a surprise is that Lucio Ceccinenello has taken a punt on 2 more years with Cal Crutchlow

Knew about Bradley as I saw that somewhere else but Cal is a surprise. Thought he would 'get the flick' as they seem to say on Moto  GP at the moment.

Great wet races and deserving winners (well in MotoGP and Moto3 as did not watch the Moto2).

Thought we might have a lady on the Moto3 podium but another crash, though some crashed two and even 3 times I see.

I was there!!! Yipeee!!!! Brilliant result from the greatest Motorsport participant currently racing anywhere in the world :)

Certain tyre company gave me a huge picture of Vale.

Ta very muchly :)   I'd love him to win the title this year then retire at the top.

My hopes too, show all the youngsters how it's done then retire :D

Since when did MacPint start riding MotoGP?

He certainly has the 'Senna' sort of aura about him. The noise at the pitlane Grandstand when he took the lead initially was deafening. Obviously there was a lot of support for the Brits and CC was rather unlucky, but the crowd were definitely behind the GOAT. He is so animated in the post win interviews too. So often we see motorsport people smile, seem happy and then reel of a great list of PC comments of who to thank. Rossi just sounds like a kid in a sweet shop, he genuinely revels in winning and it appears to me at least, it isn't some professionally focused result from hours in the gym, team talks, technical anylysis etc (yes, I realise he does all that too). Restores my faith in humankind :)

Charisma.  So many modern sports people are like robots; the old school stars like Rossi shine even brighter now against their blander contemporaries.  To be fair Moto GP has more characters than some other sports.

Whatever happened to snooker? Characters like Thorburn, Reardon, Higgins, Davis (various), Taylor (various), White, Weberniuk, Knowles etc etc, replaced by a band of clones all inspired by Stephen Hendry?  Havent watched it for 20 years.

I think the interview of Rossi by Colin Edwards was very funny and gave a good indication of the character that these two old team mates and friends have.  Moto GP will become very boring when it is full of the likes of Marquez who can ride very fast, smile a lot but has sod all personality.

Missed the interview and can't find it online, been told it was a cracker.

Hope you guys don't mind, but here are a few more shots I grabbed. Click on them to see them a bit bigger :)

Why would we mind Amanda?  They are very good and Silverstone isn't the best place to get pictures as you are so far back from the track so well done.  Lens envy! :D

Thank you, but I have to confess I've cropped the **** out of them (to paraphrase the new Ridley Scott film, 'The Martian' ).

As it happened I was working there and on a couple of occasions while out and about, grabbed my camera from the back of the car, but sadly only had a few minutes on Friday and Saturday to snap away. Mind you, who wants to watch through a little glass window when you can see the action in glourious real-time 3D :D

Even though they are cropped they are pin sharp.  That still takes skill and sadly looking at the ones I cropped from two years ago not one I had at that time.

I agree about taking photo's whilst the race is on.  I did that as well and you miss so much of the real thing that way so better to take them on warm ups and the odd 'battle shot' from the actual race.  Having been there two years ago I wouldn't go back to Silverstone.  I went back in the 80's when Ron Haslam was on the 500's so that shows my age!  You could get close to the track in those days.

At least this week there was plenty of action which made it more interesting.  I have lost interest in WSB and BSB and even though I am only 10 minutes from Cadwell I didn't go to the BSB.  Cadwell is a fantastic track to watch from but the riding just doesn't do it for me.

Bring on Misano.  Rossi for number 10 please.

I remember working at Cadwell years ago when the Nortons were running. Fantastic noise and watching the bikes and sidecars flying over the 'mountain' was an astonishing site. I know what you mean about Silverstone though, it is big. They had a huge Ferris wheel and a few other fairground bits and bobs to try and up the ante. I do like the openness that the bikes give in the pit lane and such like though. Not the ridiculous MI6 secrecy that means only Jason Bourne or James Bond could ever see what goes on in an F1 pit that they didn't work in.

Yes the Nortons did make a nice noise didn't they?  I have ridden around Cadwell (very slowly in comparison) it is a track of real character but is way too narrow and small for today's breed of Superbike let alone a Moto GP bike.

Moto GP has the promise of next year becoming a real treat with the new regs OR it could just become a watered down version of what we have.  In any event we have some exciting races ahead of us and some dogfights without doubt.
