I'm sure they did but, he already has a 2 year contract with Yam for 15/16, but as in F1 they ain't worth the paper they're written on.

He's getting beat by the old man, the Ducati looks quick - he must be considering it.

The French media report he has been talking to Bologna since the Argie race.

At RBR, Christian Horner was denying Vettel was off to Ferrari for months, until Seb announced it himself.

Yup, it's even more annoying that really, it's **** all to do with Marquez, he should be riding his own race and letting everyone else crack on with theirs

  • Is it just me, or does anyone else chuckle every time Marc falls off trying to stick with Vale?

  • WOW!!! Absolutely amazing race, and a battle we've all waited to see for so long.   What a brilliant race and a fitting tribute to #39    Lovely to see Valentino and Marc shake hands at last.   I

Just been on again and Lin Jarvis was saying that both Jorge and Yamaha had 'get out' clauses but they have signed for the next year to hopefully put Jorges head in the right place and to get rid of what Lin called the 'Red rumours'.  Also talk of would he have gone to Honda if Danny leaves.  Can't see that to be honest and talk that Casey Stoner can not come back because they have no time to give him a test this year.  I find that strange as Honda have their own track and he could be riding around there even as I type.

I agree with you about what the contract is worth Camel and last year Cal had supposedly a contract with Ducati yet managed to bale out.  Fun and games this early on in the season though don't you think?

On a different subject they also mentioned that Geoff Duke has passed away.  RIP.

Got up at 2:45AM for moto3 at Jerez.

It was so worth it.

Cant wait for the next 2 races.

Early morning then Camel but as you say more than worth it.  That last corner always is full of action at this circuit so who knows what the next two races will bring in.  Had to make a very quick cup of tea and straight back to the sofa to watch the action.  Bring it on.

Bradley fastest in FP2 at LeMans

Then he binned it!

Apparently Yamaha went along to his garage after he had been struggling with set up and said "Have you tried this?"  and he hadn't so did and it worked.  So it looks like it is still working and looking forward to seeing how he does today in FP3 and quali.

Danni Pedrosa looks like he is struggling and it makes me wonder why he came back at all.  He is obviously a racer and wants to race but surely he must know his chances of lifting a title now are slimmer than ever.  Can't be for the money.  Lot of speculation about Stoner coming back if Danny drops out as well.  Cannot see that working either really.  Why would Honda want to have him back as I would have thought he could be another rider that could stop Marquez from lifting the title unless they would just want him to ride shotgun which I can't see happening.

Questions many still but great to see the Brits doing well so far this weekend.  Make sure you don;t miss it this time Camel.

I dont believe Casey could be motivated enough to take on Marc right now.

Mind you, I havbe been really surprised by Vale this year, and Jorge is now back on form too.

2015 could be a classic year in fact.

Aleix Espagaro big high side, ouch.   Yamaha track showing to be?

Just seen the qually results - surely Aprilia should put someone else on Melandri's bike?

Yes I agree and it is painfully obvious that he doesn't want to be there.  Although wobbling around at the back of the pack when you have been used to winning races can't be a lot of fun.  Which brings me onto Nicky Haydon.  I wish he would give up.  He has had his day and it would be good to see someone else have the chance of a ride albeit not a very competitive one but it would be a foot in the door for some up and coming youngster.

I don't expect to see Melandri, Haydon and maybe even Pedrosa with a ride next season and some of them may well leave earlier.

Bad luck for Danny Kent but it will be interesting to see what he can do from there along with his teammates.

Great from Danny Kent from 31st.

Moto3 can be even better than MotoGP on many rounds.

Still not in to Moto2, just seems non-prototype.

I think in general Moto 2 is at least as competitive (in the main) as the 250's that went before.

I loved 2 stroke GP but the manufacturers knew it was no longer relevant, and without a works Aprilia (or sometimes Honda) you didn't have a chance.

Great day for Yamaha.

Nice touch with the Lorenzo and Rossi getting the Yamaha team boss on the top step for a photo.

Ionoana and Marquez great scrap.

Honda somehow lost their mojo.

A lack of development as that went in to the Moto3 Huewen suggested.

Perhaps Marquez can't get the setup right without a quick team-mate to share the load.

He does seem to have been pretty poor in most of the races the whole time Dani has been on a sick-note.

Something is certainly amiss in the Honda camp whether it be rider or machine it is difficult to tell.  Don't forget Stoner went through all of that as well where he was way off the pace some weeks.  I don't know what it is obviously but suspect it to be a rider/mind problem more than anything else.  They are fragile beings some of them and Lorenzo seems to be coming out of his off period just as Marquez is heading into one.

It is difficult to see what the Honda problem is though as all of their riders had problems.  Talk of a new swinging arm this weekend but why did they need it if they were winning by a country mile like they have been?  It could be that they have took their eye of the ball and put all their efforts into Moto3 thinking that Marquez was untouchable last year.  It is certainly a shock when they are now lying third in the manufacturers championship behind Yamaha and Ducati.

One thing that is certain is that the championship is alive and well this year with lots to look forward to.  What will happen next year with new tyres and ECU to cope with is another question.

Some good stuff in that race, Rossi getting back to good old aggressive close quarters stuff.

Marquez was looking very ragged keeping Ianone at bay, Ianone looked like a cat with a mouse.

Good win from Lorenzo, controlled the race.

Great from Danny Kent from 31st.

Agree on all counts. Moto 3 is almost always entertaining. Danny's ride was staggering.

Moto 2 seems to lack personality. I fast forwarded through the M2 and the race order barely changed. In fact, I FF'd through the GP in the end too.

Wow Q1 at Mugello   !!!!!!!!!!!

Marquez could not even make Q2 !!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't watch it (due to Las Vegas hangover) but apparently there was a tantrum of sorts in the 93 garage at the end of Q1. :giggle:

Marquez was well miffed.  Retaining his MotoGP crown is looking increasing less likley.

He is still the best rider on the ragged edge but the Yahama and the Ducati are at least as quick and even the Suzuki handles better in the corners.

But that recovering Pedrosa and Crutchlow could do a better qualifying laps must be hugely angering for him.

Honda seems to have gone backwards whilst other teams have dealt with all the advantages thjat Honda had ie fully seemless gearbox, outright speed.

See what he can do in the race.   Rossi 8th on the grid again.  Should be a good race and Danny Kent looking to make history in Moto3.  150 mph on a single cylinder 4 stroke, amazing.

Well I suppose he can see his crown slipping away from him and it must hurt knowing he cannot ride as quick as the others.  He is obviously trying but the bike is not handling like it did last year.  He is used to it pivoting around the front tyre with the back wheel in the air and still making the apex but this year the bike won't let him do that.

I think Julian Ryder has done some digging about and has a quote from someone to say that is what you get when the engineers listen to a young kid who is telling them what he wants from the bike.  What he has asked for clearly doesn't work and he doesn't now how to ride round it.  They had the same with Gibernau some years ago when he won the championship and asked for more power the next year to make the bike faster which they gave him only to find the bike was unrideable.

These machines are very finely tuned and we have seen the results of various teams and riders suffering some weekends as they cannot find a setting that works yet the previous week they were at the top without a problem.  They take a rider that knows how to set a bike up and know what is going wrong.  Interestingly enough they said that talking to Lorenzoe's team he hasn't a clue and when he comes back into the box he goes straight to his phone to tweet and his team ask him what is happening to the bike and he replies he doesn't know and tells them to check the telemetry!  Whereas Rossi gives them all the feedback and it was obvious when he first joined Yamaha from Honda it was the work of him and Gerry Burgess that turned an uncompetitive bike into a championship winner.

It was good to see Marquez lose his cool in the box when he realised that he was going to start on the fifth row.  Bit of a mini tantrum but that shows he isn't all smiles and PR.  Fact is he has had it easy in the last two seasons but now others have caught up and Yamaha and Ducati can challenge him he is going to have to learn to deal with it.  What will be interesting for me is what wil Crutchlow do if he is behind him and believes he can pass him for a better position. Will he do it?

What ever happens once again it looks like it is going to be a great days racing.  Lowes if he stays upright can win and Danny Kent just needs a bit of luck to make sure he doesn't get slip streamed out of the final corner to stop him winning.

Camel just to mention Melandri again any odd on him making it to the end of the season?

Its a shame because he was often quick on the superbike and it's clearly competitive again this year. Marco didn't want to return to GP at all according to the press, and Aprilia are getting nothing from him on that bike.

Cal "crash" Crutchlow on the floor again. Doesn't do himself any favors does he.  :x . Looked like Kent was doing a lot of running on his own yesterday, probably his plan to pull the pin from the start and gap everyone and run on his own.

I agree that in World Superbikes he was a contender and in fact in Moto GP before he left but alas he now appears to have lost the drive.  Nicky Hayden the same and it is a shame when obviously talented riders hang on too long past their prime.  It makes you wonder who at Aprillia is responsible for 'forcing' him into that position and what they are thinking now about it.

I think it's important for MotoGP to have Americans in the field for marketing reasons - and none of the others recently have established themselves as winners or likely champions. I was particularly disappointed by Ben Spiess - who smashed the WSB field but couldnt take it to Lorenzo on the factory Yamaha.
