Honda boss says Rossi planned last turn collision at Assen.

Is Livio Suppo a complete asshole then or is Marky Warky in need of some re-assurance?

Clearly it was the 10 time world champs own fault that he was run off the road by a lunge from the kid.

Yup, it's even more annoying that really, it's **** all to do with Marquez, he should be riding his own race and letting everyone else crack on with theirs

  • Is it just me, or does anyone else chuckle every time Marc falls off trying to stick with Vale?

  • WOW!!! Absolutely amazing race, and a battle we've all waited to see for so long.   What a brilliant race and a fitting tribute to #39    Lovely to see Valentino and Marc shake hands at last.   I

:swear: - Just what is this guy on? Life is already too short to "plan" a motorcycle crash, never mind the issues with planning the guy behind you running into the corner hot and using you as a braking point!

I always thought Livio Suppo was the normal straight talking no pr bull sort of bloke but clearly I was wrong.  It shows how rattled Honda are and is only going to make the pressure on Marquez to perform greater.

Also shame to see Melandri have to go like that because he has been a very good rider in his time.  But fair do's enough is enough and you have to know when to quit.  Can someone tell Nicky Haydon now?  He was really lucky to win the Championship when he did and has done nothing since and it really must be time to go and do something else.  I know they are racers through and through but what he is doing isn't racing in that sort of company.

I've always said that Nicky Haydon didn't so much win the MotoGP championship as just outscore the other contenders.

Especially because the Doctor's Yamaha had a tendency to blow up that year.

Rossi got 5 wins to Hayden's 2 but he had 3 DNF's to 1 and a couple of 13/14th places for Vale let Hayden win it by 5 points.

Always thought Hayden seemed very nice bloke, good in the wet as a loose surface rider you would expect, did well to promote MotoGP in the US where AMA does dominate the coverage and even wages to get good riders. Woudl have like to have seen Mat Mladin and Josh Hayes who are fantastic riders though may have had issues like most WSBs who move to MotoGP, Troy Baylis being one of the few exceptions.

I think it as Camel that mentioned before what a disappointment Ben Spies was.  Injury put him out in the end but he looked so promising to start with and then quickly went off with inconsistency that seemed to stem from his head more than his shoulder.

I know there is a big push in America to get riders back into the circus and when you think of the many great riders they have had it seems a shame to have none now.  Mind you probably good for the Brits that we don't have another Nation to do battle with on the track.

Bostrom, Edwards, Hayden, Hopkins, KRJR, Spiess, and a couple of wild cards (the other Hayden and Roberts) are the only Yanks to have had a go in Moto GP since it went 4 stroke in 2002.

Whatever happened since to American racing since Hennen, Roberts, Spencer, Lawson, Rainey, Schwantz, Kocinski et al.

Michael Laverty qualified within 0.9 of teammate Bautista, who had been previously routinely putting 2 or 3 seconds on Melandri.

Not a bad effort.

I think I have said it before but for me I know Roberts and Wainey were something special but what Spencer did winning two championships in the same year 250 and 500 was something else entirely.  Could Marquez do it now?  I doubt it but then was the racing then as close as it is now?

On a different note sort of but still on about Yanks.  I love it when Colin Edwards is on the commentating team.  He is a comical so and so and has a wicked sense of humour but also adds a fresh professional look at what is going on.  I think quote of the day for me has to be when he saw Danny Kent annihilate the opposition in FP3 again and he just said "I have no words for it, I know I am paid to tell you how he does it but I don't know."    Oh and also describing Aoyhama as being a mobile billboard!

the Texas Tornado always struck me as a nice guy, and a brilliant superbike rider.

He just wasn't quite able to take on Rossi, but in those days who could?

Loving this weekend's GSX-R 30th anniversary colour scheme on the MotoGP Suzuki's.

Maverick is really looking like a serious prospect too.

Another Rossi Masterclass? Yes Marquez and Danni had the quicker bikes but still kept his teammate behind him stretching his lead.

Rossi has been the more consistent this year, but when Lorenzo is on it no-one has got near him.

It's going to be an epic championship year.

I'm working at the Motogp at Silverstone next month!!! Whooo hoo :)

US Superbikes championship?

US Superbikes championship?

Lawson, Rainey, Hayden (and Corser) all won that, but since 2002 (Hayden), the only AMA champ to make any impact on MotoGP is Ben Spiess.

When the US championship was 2 stroke ( mostly on TZ700/750's ) they used to come over and rule on 500's.

Yet more evidence about the size of the gap between superbikes and prototypes I think.

I think you have a valid point there Camel.  I also don't think that us mere mortals can actually appreciate the massive difference between the two and the tyres they use.  Well I certainly can't!

Er, I was meaning that the USSBC is now so big (in terms of rider profile and income US-side) that there's pretty much no incentive to come and risk being a stickleback in a pike tank!

Oh I see.

Hence no yanks in WSB either.

Well that didn't last long.

Laverty's Aprilia ride now goes to Bradl who's escaped the mess at Forward Racing.

  • Author

OK Bradl's quick. Out-qualified Bautista first time on the bike.

Oh and Honda are quite clearly back now they've junked the 2015 frame.

Edited by camelspyyder

Ohh Cal, your starts!

Well done Brad.

Aliens keeping it interesting.  Come on Vale, do it for us old farts.

Got my bike MOT'd on the weekend, saw they have a pile of "93" shirts, Yamaha showroom, I said " what you doing selling those?"  Reply came I am not selling them I am stock them ie not many want a MM shirt, Vale will out sell 10:1.

Ducati fast but not so good round the rest of the track.

Disappointed Danny Kent could not do the business in Moto3 and looking forward, hopefully, when we can have the first British Moto champ since Sheen, well done McPhee for getting on the podium in the difficult conditions.

Well even though Brno is a great track for bikes, only Moto3 excited me this week.

Maybe they should just have 3 divisions of that.

Totally agree.

Great track but MotoGP was dull dull dull.

Moto3 Fab as usual.

Kent might have a challenge on and thought he might go for higher than 7th.  McPhee picks up some more points and hopefully he will get a ride next year.

Great to hear Niki Lauda comments that MotoGP is the best racing currently (including F1 is the inference).

Like the sight//spec of Yamaha R3 and pretending I am extracting every scrap of power like Moto3.  R1, R3 and R6 are all about the same size and the R3 looks less extreme riding position !
