@Iamholan: what Octavias? Octavias MY2016 (CW22 2015) are getting the new MIB2. I am from the Czech Rep and this was confirmed by 3 dealers arond me... I even called to Skoda Mlada Boleslav (where Octavias are made) and they confirmed this...

My dealer sent me a list of changes which states that MIB2 is only coming to Rapid and Rapid Space back. It mentions the yeti was updated last year also. .

No mention of Octavia.

Ooh now that's a challenge.

Go and ask a dealer if the Octavia (Elegance) comes with a CD player. Then if they say yes, go and order the car. If it turns up as an MY16 vehicle with no CD player (as suggested), what then?

One things for sure, if it was me, Id be refusing to accept the car, and demanding my deposit back.

 

Massive downward step by Skoda. Just confirms that there will be no new Octy for me.

I ordered with the intention of getting the new MIB2 system. Without it I am rethinking my purchase.... Don't really care about a cd player. Really wanted the higher resolution screen.

Surely they wouldn't upgrade Czech octavias and not UK o es to the new system?

Guys, this is the official list of changes for Slovak dealers (do not have this one for Czech, but the languages are similar). See the points 9.,14.15. (Smarlink, MIB2 for Bolero and Amundsen - higher res screen, no CD player, MIB2 for Columbus - only minor changes, screen is the same but adds smartlink, BT preimum, Wi-Fi, rear seat connectivity). And I don't think that only Czech/Slovak Octavias are gonna be updated.

The MY2016 is mainly about EURO6 for diesel engines...

@Iamholam: Do not see any reason why you cannot. MY2016 is already available to be ordered. This is not confidential info, nearly any dealer will read u this list by phone... I do not have time to translate the whole change list now. But if you post yours then I can add whats missing compared to my Czech/Slovak change list and then we can compare

@Iamholam: Nice so now what's missing on ur list:

1.) engine changes - 1.2 TSI from 77kw to 81 kw (price increase), 1.4 TSI 103 kw to 110 kw (price increase), 1.6 TDI 77kw to 81 kw (price increase), All TDIs now meet EU6.

2.) MIBII for Octavia: Smarlink, MIB2 for Bolero and Amundsen - higher res screen, no CD player, MIB2 for Columbus - only minor changes, screen is the same but adds smartlink, BT premium, Wi-Fi, rear seat connectivity.

3.) Traveller assistant basic now available for Amundsen.

4.) Octavia RS230 will be available only in red corrida, white moon or black magic paints. Interior decor is in piano black, vRS logo is also black and enlarged by 15%. Standard will be performance mode selection, read and front parking sensors, lap tip timer, leather seats (electrically adjustable front seat).

As for the Octavia MIBII, maybe UK models are getting this later. Dunno :(

Dunno indeed. If they are being built in the same factory I would want to have a similar build, maybe that is not the case?

Interesting is, that it mentions smartgate. Smartgate is already available for "Czech" Octavias like 3 months. I have it on my vRS...

Checking smartlink page on skoda site it says that only bolero and amundsen with he 6.5" screen support smartlink. So if smartlink is an option on octavias (as my doc says) that should mean they will have the new mib2! (here is me hoping)

i ordered my car (octavia vrs TDI with free amundsen) on the 7th of April. never any mention of MY16. i challenged my dealer on this last week and he denied any knowledge of it having any impact on my order.

 

very confused and annoyed now!!

@oasisphonic: well, I think that's the issue. The FREE Amundsen. It looks like they are getting rid of MIB1 Amundsens... :( anyway great choice!

Just took a look at the new MY16 Finnish options list for the Octavia.

 

Some changes that jump out to me:

 

• Elegance is now Style. RS230 is now listed as a new spec.

• SL1 "Plastic underside protective plates" is now available as a 80 € option (previously it was only available as a part of the rough road package)

• 7X2 "Radar sensors in the front and rear" are now standard on Style, RS models and Scout

• 8SK "LED rear lights" are now standard on all trims except for the base model

• 9WT "SmartLink" is a 115 € option on Ambition and Greenline, and standard in all higher spec models

• 9WX "SmartLink and wireless Media Command" is 50€ extra over 9WT

• PFC "Driving Mode selection" is now standard on Style, L&K and Scout

• PFD "RS mode selection" is standard on RS230, 195€ on RS

• PFE "Driving Mode selection + Off Road" is a 70€ option for Scout

• PG2 "Glossy black roof rails" 150€ for RS, standard on RS230

• PH7 "Sun set darkened rear windows" now standard on Style, L&K, RS models and Scout

• PHC "Petrol/Diesel powered auxiliary heater" is now standard on L&K

• UE9 "Media in (Mitsumi)" is no longer available

• WBC "Dynamic pack" is no longer available for Ambition

• WPT "Winter pack" is now available for Scout for 965€

• WPU "Xtreme pack" is now available for RS for 1095€

• "Sport pack" is now "Sport design pack" and is available as two versions YCE & YCF for 1295€ and 1380€ respectively

 

 

I have to admit I have mixed feelings about the changes. Some of them seem great (SmartLink for example) but others I'm glad I didn't have to get (Sunset and the three spoke steering wheel spring to mind)...

That seems a much more comprehensive list for octavia than what I a have been provided. A lot of options I picked on my car that has yet to built seem standard in Finland now

Getting very annoyed if every other market is getting the new 6.5" Amundsen except the UK!
