It would be wierd if it didnt get new headunits, considering Fabia has it and most likely Superb gets them.

I've just cancelled the order and re ordered this morning.

Lead time of about 12 weeks. Apparently the order won't go through until Tuesday and we are thinking that by that time it should push us into week 22.

Only thing being as far as I can see...

I've got a free Amunsden satnav which I reckon will likely be old stock (perhaps why they are throwing them in to make way for new tech) and orders that don't have the satnav may well benefit from having MIB2 installed.

Ordered my Scout last Sunday and I've just emailed the dealer to ask what the build week is.

 

Not sure I'd change it if the build week is earlier than 22, probably doesn't make much difference on a leased car when I don't have to worry about residuals; unless of course they've fixed the boot resonance problem, but then they wouldn't tell you if they had anyway.

Guys, anybody able to tell me which build week we are in currently?

Am I right to assume that week 1 begins at the start of January?

Wonderful - thank you. With that in mind, when ordering earlier I was quoted 8/9 weeks for mine to be built which should go comfortably into build week 23/24 territory :-)

My dealer admitted he has to spec up cars (especially the vrs) when ordering his 'stock' as he admits the skoda standard specifications can be poor e.g., vrs without nav and cruise, black series with no cruise or MFSW.

No, nothing yet.  Not been very impressed with the dealer so far; they don't make much on leases so I can understand why I'm not top priority, but so far they've been a far cry from my local BMW dealer, which surprised me given the reputation Skoda dealers have in the motoring press for customer service.

 

Hopefully I'll get an answer tomorrow.

Had a good chat with the dealer today about changes and he did not have any information about the MY16 changes yet.  He did say that the last bulletin he received on the VRS was that they were now giving away Amundsen as a free option (I think this sounds like they are getting rid of old stock) 

 

Currently there is a 5 week wait on the VRS (with a 3 week delivery period) and he said that to guarantee a MY16 car you would need to order after 27th April for build week 22.

 

So now onto the good/bad news.  The dealer is also a VW dealership and he said that the Golf MY16 changes have been announced.  Most notably was the change of the Discover Nav from MIB1 to MIB2.  (I think the Discover nav must be equivalent to Amundsen).  However he did also say that the Golf GTD has increased in price by £900 over MY15 :(

Both the business manager at a Skoda dealer and Fleet manager at a VW dealer suggested they got less than that - only £100 agency fee.

 

Mind you, there may be other benefits they don't talk about, wouldn't be the first time.

I've been told to expect a 8/9 week wait on building the Octavia VRS and a further 4/5 weeks for delivery.  Mine was ordered from Fish Bros Skoda in Swindon last week although the actual order was processed yesterday.

 

Not sure where that difference comes from.

I'll crack up if my €2,000 Columbus option is obsolete within three weeks of it being put into my car..!

As far as I can tell (going by whats on the Mk8 Passat) will remain 8" with same 800 x 600 res, also retains a 64gb SSD. Where it does differ.....improved CPU...possibly slight graphics capability improvements with it (given that the new unit will have a better CPU/GPU-on-a- chip employed), standard mirrorlink (optional on other units), carnet (connected) capabilities, ability to connect two BT devices at once and SMS text to speech read-back. Otherwise possibly some additional software/functionality improvements and hopefully a bit less glitchy than the MIB 1 units.

If I'd just forked €2k on a MIB1 columbus id be a bit peeved with VAG right now.

Looks like someone posted the MY15 changes on the forum on the 28th of April last year. Hopefully that will happen again this year...

Unlikely....the 184ps unit is already EU6 compliant without SCR.

They may replace it with the 190ps unit at some stage but dont doubt the A3 and Golf GTD would get it first if any.

My order went through 9th April and so far been told to expect car to me 29th June. Would be close for MY16!

Would also be delighted if it was a 190ps engine but the golf gtd estate has just been released and its 184, we shall see.

Will try and get my build week confirmed
