@lamholam Maybe worth giving SUK customer services a call to get clarity?

To be honest even I'd be peeved if other countries get MIB2 but UK doesn't.

I know it's (unacceptably) normal for us Brits to get a crap bargain but this takes the p*#s!!

I phoned SUK yesterday but they seemed to be reading from the same sheet that I already have! There just doesn't seem to be enough information out there for us brits. Not yet anyway.

@lamholam Shame about SUK. Doesn't surprise me though. When ACC and Park assist suddenly got offered as a free option, the dealers didn't have a clue so I called SUK. Customer service agent wasn't too sure but took the initiative to ask a sales specialist who also didn't have a clue! :-s

Elements of that PDF you uploaded show SUK has good intention to deliver good service (referring to something in the doc which prompts the dealer to keep the customer informed of changes/delays) but they do need to get their act together and be a bit more clued up to properly follow up on their good intentions!

So that says mib2 is coming to octavia! (but is it a UK site?, looks like it could be...)

It's on the IOS Skoda media app as well, so I imagine that this is for the UK too

Do any Octavias make use of SCR (selective catalytic reduction)? The new 150PS TDI in the Yeti does. As does this engine in the Audi Q3. Anyone got any experience?

So on the UK vRS other than amundsen are there any confirmed changes to standard spec with the MY16?

I'm not seeing anything.

I dont think any of the EU6 TDI's on the Octavia will get SCR, certainly the Mk8 Passat only has SCR on its 190 and 240ps motors and probably then because without they'd probably not meet the emissions criteria. I expect the 184ps motor is just scraping through but I anticipate it'll get dropped for the 190ps SCR variant in due course.

RE MIB2 coming to the Octavia, I think its a dead certainty, it just is not mentioned specifically in that document.

If you read between the lines, in that Smartlink is now an option on week 22 Octavias rather says it all.....Smartlink is only available as functionality on MIB2 based hardware so to have Smartlink you'll need a MIB2 infotainment system.

Smartlink is an interesting one.....as if you have an Android or Apple phone then it potentially renders the need for OEM nav redundant.

Just took a look at the new MY16 Finnish options list for the Octavia.

 

I noticed that the CO2 emission for the Greenline has gone up to 90 from 85 and that of the 1.6 TDI DSG I have has gone down to 99 from 104. Interesting!

Skoda international site and various European website are making noises about MY16 spec, but not the UK. I wonder why that is. Is Skoda UK just a bit slow or is there some other reason?

Also how often do the brochures change? I noted that the last Octavia brochure is marked "Valid from April 2015". I assume that remains valid until MY15 stock is mostly cleared?

Any idea from past experience when we can expect Skoda UK to officially start making noises about MY16 spec cars?

I still haven't seen any changes released.

Which is pretty daft seeing as any Skoda ordered now will be a MY16... Mad that full details aren't available yet.

@clv101 What you're saying is not entirely true. Any car ordered now could come from existing stock if it's standard or common spec.

As I'm quite close to MY16 dates I'm a bit worried that I will get a frankenstein car with MY15, and MY16 stuff. Does that happen in the VAG world?

Could I get a MY16 car but with old Amundsen for instance? Would Skoda be obligated to tell you before you took delivery?

This is not the way it works. Not possible. Either MY2015 or MY 2016. Nothing between.

Ordered my elegance estate from the UK on the 9th of March. It's now on a ship on the North Sea. My dealer had no idea of the changes (parking assist and adaptive cruise) still don't know what MY I will be getting. Someone else on here said they ordered on the 12th of March and their dealer said it would be MY16 [emoji37]

I think if it's built before wk22 think it will be a my15

@hod Ordered 29th March from a West London dealer. No idea when the dealer put the order into the system though.
