@MikeF you're probably not alone. Mine's meant to be a week 22 build (ordered same week as you) but I suspect I'll get notified its being built a week or two early.

Keep you posted on the build week thread.

just ordered my Octavia SEL on Friday and Smart Link is an optional extra, got it added to my order this mornign after the brochures appeared on line over the weekend

Would be interested if you can get smartlink retrofitted as my dealer hasn't told me what the difference between a mib2 unit with smartlink differs from a unit without. He also said that you can't retrofit smartlink or Smart gate (I know he is wrong at least about Smart gate as others on this forum have successfully retrofitted that)

I thought about retrofitting too but in the end the lower cost of getting it as a factory option off sets the the extra price I had to pay for the MY16 increase.

Smartlink is 'likely' to be just a licence key to enable it on MIB2 units

Smartgate is a separate wireless box under the driver seat with MIB1 units, not sure if it will be built in to the MIB2 Columbus though as it has WiFi

I ordered through a dealer from the car wow website. At the time when I ordered they were still doing Amundsen free for the MY15 car. I had the price locked down for the car the free sat nav (and some other options) with a 6% discount off the lot.

When the MY16 options came out I simply added smart gate and smartlink and paid the £100 difference for the MY16 price (but still with a 6% discount)

All in including servicing the free sat nav options and the MY16 bits I still reckon I am saving between 8-9% off the list price of the car which seems not too bad.

i just added folding mirrors to mine no extra charges apart from the cost of the mirrors

What car are you getting? Is it a hatch or estate?

WTF is wrong with Skoda do they not want to sell any cars?

The configurator has been down for several days and the Octavia elegance option has been inaccessible for over 2 weeks. Now I appreciate that it will be becoming the SE-L but this seems a long time.

I've spoken to Skoda UK who deny any of the info about free ACC or Park Assist mentioned by previous posters (or that they were given free previously), even they seem to be reading from the May 2015 brochure which I can tell them has a number of inaccuracies.

I need a new car before August and was thinking of either a Scout or elegance 4x4 but without knowing what I'd get who in this situation would order?

Anyone out there know the definitive answers on ACC and Park Assist for new options, any of you who received them care to tell me which dealership as they seem to know more than Skoda UK.

@Cyberman, I got the free park assist etc. But my dealer didn't have a clue about it. I told him about it and when he plugged it through the system it came up as a free option so he just gave it to me.

Its a bit if a mess at the moment! :-s

I think free Park Assist and ACC on elegance was a limited time thing. (same as free Sat Nav on vRS) they both came up on the configurator as free options and I suspect when the configurator comes back up they will not be free anymore. (I think this is the case because the May price brochure, still list these items as options with a price)

I suppose you could just go to your dealer now and say that when you tried to spec a car before the configurator went down they were free so should still be free now!

Was also just about to say it may be best to just head down to the dealer. However they initially use the configurator to build the car and a starting price and go by what that advises. Without that, I suspect they would resort to the brochure which is a mess.

Only the official ordering system used to send the order to Skoda (factory?) can be taken for gospel and I'm not sure if the dealer will resort to that to build a quote

I tried a dealer who seemed clueless and also denied ever having heard that acc and park assist were free on the elegance!

That's why I was asking which dealers others had luck with.

Not sure the official system would be more help, previously had a dealer look something up and he seemed to be able to spec up any option (not just uk ones) but said he didn't think it would be definitive and said "not to rely on it"!

I bought my car from Drew of Ingram Skoda in Ayr. Knowledgeable guy who definitely knows about the free parts.

Do we not have any knowledgeable dealers on the forums that can comment/help? I guess not as they would have already commented?

Hi,

I've missed the odd page or two from this thread so forgive me if none of this is relevent.

I have just picked up my Elegance yesterday which came with free ACC and Park Assist. I ordered on 9th March and at the time I specced the Park Assist, but not the ACC. When we went onto the dealers system to create the order both those options came up as zero cost while we were building the car. The dealer thought this must be a mistake and so manually added on a charge for the Park Assist. About two weeks later both options showed as free on the Skoda Configurator so I got in touch and he happily deducted the cost.

All this was through S.G. Smith in Croydon, who's service was fantastic from start to finish by the way.

@Aurial will we get to see pics? [emoji14]

It sounds like the smaller, lesser know dealers are the best and they're probably the ones that got Skoda the reputation for service etc that it has today. Seems they're a bit of a disappearing breed which is a bit of a shame.

I'm buying my Octy from a large branded dealership and so far not all that impressed by the service. I think I'll be sending to a smaller dealer for servicing.

That's good, maybe as it was a MY15 option you didn't need to pay the extra. Really want the wing mirrors too but I have ticked too many options already!

Mine ordered with CC and park assist from Arbury Skoda Leamington

• PW8 "Flog lights with black optics" now standard on Ambition

• PWR "Traveller assistant" now available as a cheaper version with Amundsen instead of Columbus 1380€ for Ambition and Greenline, 995€ for the rest (except L&K which comes with the Columbus variant)

I have to admit I have mixed feelings about the changes. Some of them seem great (SmartLink for example) but others I'm glad I didn't have to get (Sunset and the three spoke steering wheel spring to mind)...

Hi.

I'm in the process of ordering an Octavia Scout, and as I understand from the dealer this will be a MY2016 modell.

I do not read finnish, but is it correct that KESSY and Adaptive Cruise is standard on the scout? I deducted that "Vakio" means Standard. :)

@SuperJ76 I wouldn't go by the specs of the non UK cars as equipment levels seem to vary from country to country.

Might be best to wait and let the configurator come back online... Assuming this will accurately reflect the UK offering and isn't as error ridden as the May'15 brochure.

Thanks for the info @RB79. Guess its up to the importer to set the equipment levels.

I'm ordering from Norway, so I'll just have to wait and see then. :)

Boo! :-)

From my dealer today:-

We have tried to add smartgate to your order but because your car is due to go in to production in the next 10, days we are passed the date that it will let us change your order. Your car will be with us here onsite around the 2nd week of June I’m very sorry we can’t change this for you.

Wouldn't worry too much about Smart gate as the kit can be bought seperately and can be retrofitted (job doesn't seem too hard)

Not sure about Smartlink though as there hasn't been much info for it and the new MIB2 unit.
