MY16

Featured Replies

Days after I ordered the car, details on the configurator changed (the addition of park assist and adaptive cruise) so I assume any orders after the website change would have the new spec? My car is a 4x4 so the build date was only 3 weeks ago. If I get the extra options it will be a bonus obviously.

The specification of your car will be more dependent on which week it hits the production line than what it said on the website configurator. I'd take anything on the configurator with a shovel of salt!

Does anyone know when these changes get applied?

Week 22!

So you could end up ordering a car on the configurator and not getting spec you may have thought you were getting? Not very good at all.

It's a strange way to do things.

@Whitby I think the newer spec is meant to better the previous year's spec, so you shouldn't need to complain that you're not getting the car that you initially ordered.

The exception to that may be this year, where the CD player is apparently no longer there in the new spec.

Thanks RB79. Not complaining. Just strange that someone who ordered a few days after me has been told he is getting new spec. If I get any additional spec it will be a bonus. If not I will still be happy with the spec I ordered.

Bw22 is for the MY16 changes. The free ACC and lane assist was on the configurator before hand so could well be on your car.

When I spoke to my dealer he stated that the car would be a 16my and would include ACC and park assist. Maybe they are going to be standard on elegance (or SE-L) from 16my?

When did you order Warkman?

What are the my16 changes to the UK spec vRS?

As I'm quite close to MY16 dates I'm a bit worried that I will get a frankenstein car with MY15, and MY16 stuff. Does that happen in the VAG world?

Could I get a MY16 car but with old Amundsen for instance? Would Skoda be obligated to tell you before you took delivery?

I wouldnt worry. If you ordered your car with free Amundsen if it is built week 22 or later assuming Skoda do in fact upgrade the units to MIB2 for MY16 you'll get the new unit.

I wouldnt be entirely surprised much as park assist and ACC has become standard kit on the Elegance model that for MY16 onwards all vRS's will now come with standard Amundsen....lack of standard nav on the vRS has always been rather a critcism of the model...perhaps SUK have taken note? The Golf GTD/GTI are looking as though they will now all come with Discover Nav, Keyless entry and Winter Pack now so seems logical.

I reckon by the end of the year most VAG passenger cars will be running the new MIB2 infotainment.....have seen the Scirocco is just about to get it for MY16 too.

It's just the nor knowing now that's killing me! I asked about adding smartlink and Smart gate to my order too but the dealer has said that to add those may involve resubmitting the order and then taking any price increases into account (I ordered my car at my15 prices which have been locked down)

I know that you can retrofit smart gate so that might not be too bad. But wonder if I do get mib2 what the process for retrofitting smartlink maybe... (it's a £150 option and wonder if all that entails is a software update...)

Woohoo! Got a call from the dealer who contacted Skoda retailer support to say my VRS will have MIB2! More details to follow!

@lamholam Given my car is due to be built in week 22 I'm still on tenterhooks as to whether mine will actually get built in wk22 and I get MY16 or if It will get moved forward and I get MY15 :-s

no cd player with that?

no cd player with that?

I'm not really bothered. But I believe the MIB2 does not have cd.

More importantly for me though is the MIB2 is the new generation higher res unit. (same resolution as columbus is but as a free option)

MIB2 sounds well worth having. Overall better hardware. I've read of a lot of people being very dissatisfied with the performance of the first gen hardware.

Been told that although I will have MIB2 hardware I may not be able to add smartlink and Smart gate without paying MY16 prices for the whole car.

I know Smart gate is easy enough to retrofit anyone know what the likely hood of a smartlink retrofit may be?

what the price difference. it may work out cheaper for me as theres talk of kessy and a winter pack being stand.

Haven't heard about Kessy or winter pack (aside from MIB2) all the other changes were very minor.

I would imagine if they were standard it would already be on the MY16 car though.

Will let you know when I have an update.

I was told yesterday that whilst the vrs estate will have a slight price increase, the hatch price will drop by around 200 quid,we will see,,,

@cortina: do u mean liftback?

I read a posting on another thread from someone that took delivery of their car last week (@foregonereality). Their new Octy suffers from the dreaded cabin boom / buffeting.

I wonder if the cabin boom is a also a standard "feature" of MY16 cars? :-s
