Lol,there was a time, years back when a Skoda owner would count himself lucky if he had four wheels when the car was delivered, never mind five

  • Ah yes of course, a baby buggy - just what you need in the boot when you find a fecking great chunk of metal sticking out of the side of your tyre.  Why didn't I think of that?

  • I think it would be easier to list the options I didnt get than to list what I ordered :p

But... I am also tempted by:

Winter pack (mostly for heated frontscreen)

Tow bar (in case I want to fit a bike rack?)

ACC (as I have front assist!)

Auto dimming mirrors (because the rear view one dims?)

Variable boot floor

Power tailgate..

May want to consider the Canton pack H. Next time we're out remind me to turn it up :)

Also may want to consider the boot netting, I wouldn't be without it now!  http://www.superskoda.com/fr/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-original-Skoda-boot-netting-system-BLACK

I couldn't add anything else .........

What the dealer ran out of paper for the contract or does the SKODA ordering system only allow for 30 lines of options ;)

I missed off chrome window surrounds as well .....

Net looks cheaper on super skoda than the dealer.

Look better in red but, they are actual very good for carrier bags full of shopping, with them front and back fitted you can get 3 bags in each, 2 on each currey hook and 1 in the left side cuppy hole or 11 in total.  Still leaves over half the boot floor for the big box from Costco.

As long as you are happy kissing goodbye to an extra £3,000 then I would say go for it.

My Octavia Ambition came with travel pack and metallic silver paint. Thinking about it now i would feel very differently about the Skoda if it didn't have these options.

I also went mad with the option list. Plan on having this car for a long time, so better to buy some non used extras than regretting not adding some.

The only extras a didn't add:

Heated windscreen (didn't like the glare)

Parking assistant (camera and front/rear sensors should be sufficent :) )

Phone Box (is there anyone ordering this?)

Variable boot floor

The extra I did want but could not have:

Dark headlining.  :(

  • 2 weeks later...

The options list is a dangerous thing. Ordered my VRS recently and am still looking at the options list wondering whether I should try and add stuff.Went for:

Black Design pack plus (includesign sunset glass)

kessy

Canton

Front park sensors

Intelligent Light Assist

Smartgate/Smart Link

Spare wheel (experience tells me this is a must)

Colour Maxi Dot.

Wondering whether to add heated washers for £50 quid. Would love the Columbus, leather and Panoramic roof but at a further 4k odd can't really run to them. Will probably cover the rear seats anyway to protect from kids.

Any other options people think are must haves?

If you are getting the estate, get the power bootlid. That is the one option I really regret not getting. The rubber handle thingie is kinda akward to use to close the boot.

Went for

Sunroof (The black surround looks great - wished it covered whole roof)

Golus Alloys (Looked the mutts nuts 2 years ago)

Sports Suspension (A must with the bigger wheels or else they are lost in the arches)

Park assist (Still smile everytime it drives itself into a space)

3 Spoke MFSW (looks so much better than the 4 spoke, amazing how you pay more for for less)

Flappy Paddles (Look great, utterly wasted, use them 0.01% of the time)

Heated Seats (Comfy bum in winter)

Heated Screen (20-30 seconds from frosted up to clear in winter)

Heated washer jets

Wish I'd gone for a manual gearbox as auto + diesel = not great.  Then I might have picked Columbus but considering I was also looking at £32K Mercs and BMWs they would have been bog standard so all in all i'm happy with the Octy but won't get another.

Thought about it, but had to draw the line somewhere!

That is what I did aswell. But I really regret draing the line just there.

If I were you, Id toss Kessy out the window and get the power boot instead.

Have some extra money now on a better deal and very tempted by:

KESSY

Power Boot

Folding mirrors

Like you must stop with the options!

Curious about Bluetooth+ is reception on your phone that poor that you need it boosted?

I will be spending most of my day in the car and some areas have a poor reception.  I work in my car in between appointments and tether my ipad to the phone to do work hence why i chose it.  It will give me the signal boost I need.

My fav options are the roof and black pack obviously.

I hear that the new Superb will have wireless charging in its phone box. That would be pretty cool!

Panoramic roof - very nice. Just couldn't run to that...not that we aren't lacking in the options department!

I agree, the pan roof is quite expensive but I just had to have it.
